catches the oil out of the breather hoses instead of sending it back through the air intake i believe. not sure if theres more to it than that i just want the oil out.
-
yeah i have a cheap version to check out but need a can with 3 in 3 out. otherwise ill need 3 seperate cans which seemed a bit mad unless thats what people usually do?

Removed and cleaned throttle body. No hesitation at any revs and no struggle after changing up. Acceleration improved aswell. Though I was met by a lovely little oil puddle in the top of the manifold. Time to sort out a half decent catch can can't find much online so will probably just make one :D love a tinker

Na cost me three times it's worth in parts but first car no money for a new one and needed it running. never did anything to it in 5 years till I got sick of garages and did a service and a couple small bits like starter motor. This is first car I have tinkered with an it's great I have missed out on this for years. Aye but even an empty crisp packet slowed it down. Exavtly don't see the point in all the fancy pointless crap. Ex's dad had some merc amg estate... Nice engine and smooth but for the money I didn't care for it. Endless buttons and settings even an electronic boot which broke if you did it manually. 0-60 was less than a second different to a standard Sti . Even my Impreza revs up as smoothly. Know which I would prefer

i got the strut braces from ebay. yeah i will do torn between buying a house or getting car bits. hah yeah it was pretty bad found it quite reliable but the mot centres disagreed with their massive bills, still dont trust any garages from owning that car, for what they are made for they are ok. used mine driving to london regularly it liked that more than city driving strangely. it was nippy if you had nearly no petrol and took out everything you were carrying. passengers were dead weight. yeah most reviews are poor. most i read were aimed at the interior, i dont need 15million buttons to turn the blowers on and put the window down. i like the simplicity. they were right about the engine feeling underpowered but i put that down to the weight of the car once its had a kicking it goes canny. mine came with cheap snow tyres and it handles well. can only imagine it would be alot better with good tyres

welcome. drop in panel filter does make it rev easier. couldnt find a front splitter in the uk so got some universal rubber from ebay for about £10, isnt bad. fitted front and rear strut braces to mine, looking at getting whiteline anti roll bars and a cobra cat back exhaust then a remap this year moved onto this from a 1.2 clio aswell, STI is the future plan but for now i love this car. only other stuff done is cosmetic replaced breather hoses, coolant pipes, painted some bits under the bonnet. under sealed the car and replaced all the oils, coolant and spark plugs. 11000 miles or so never had any problems. had a bit of hesitation between 2-3k rpm but cleaned the maf and everythings rosey. quick enough when its worked but i got it for the grip, i think its brilliant.

i have the rx 2.0, i love it. similar issue been 25 but from owning this car i will never buy anything but subaru again. goes canny if pushed but its biggest asset is the grip. great fun having a bmw or merc up your backside till you come to a corner and they cant hold up. and this is in the normal car, cant wait till i get my hands on a wrx or sti. read loads of reviews, mostly poor, what a load of dribble. the only thing is it does feel underpowered but its a heavy car. put in a pipercross foam panel filter, will be putting a catback exhaust on it in the near future and then a remap. not expecting alot, unless you believe the sellers then ill be at 180bhp, just want a little more pull to make up for the weight. fitted front and rear strut braces, it does make a difference and corners flatter, only thing i found with them is though its flatter itll bounce back and kick slightly when it leans whereas before it just went with it i put it down to the cheap winter tyres it came with not gripping. http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=25999095.110.16956&sowigan=Wi&Breite=205&Quer=55&Felge=17&Speed=&Load=&kategorie=6&Marke=Ovation&tyre_for=&x_tyre_for=&Herst=Ovation&m_s=3&rsmFahrzeugart=PKW&filter_preis_bis=&filter_preis_von=&homologation=&Label=E-C-71-2&details=Ordern&typ=R-247734 hardly a top end tyre. looking to put better anti roll bars and tyres on aswell as a brake cylinder brace(was surprised how much it does actually move) servicing is very easy just buy a big breaker bar, rear diff plugs and engine sump plug were hell to remove on mine. spark plugs were a pig but its doable. do recommend membership here, at the least the halfords card has saved me over £200 easy. having this car has also made me spend a fortune on bits n pieces but thats not the point

Only difference I presume is the foam panel filter. Hadnt heard of that freessm before I'll check it out

It's in the alarm manual I'll get a pic of mine if you haven't got one . For manual override

Replaced gearbox oil, coolant, cleaned out grotty mess from coolant resouvior, put little blue silicone hose and fitted mishimoto blue hoses. Shot my mate for dropping a bit of blue hose in the engine bay. Probably sat wherever my 10mm went. Quick wash this afternoon covered in damn salt .

thanks mate appreciate it. shame cobra havent got some good comparison videos on their site. hoping to hear some nice noise but dont wanna drive round with loads of noise without the poke.
-
Great thanks that was the main thing holding me off and looking towards the resonated one but I couldn't get a vid to show how loud it was didn't wanna take the dive to find out one was ridiculously loud and the other no different to standard. Mine will need replacing this year anyway pipe is corrorded badly.

What's it like for hills your way? The grounds rarely level here which doesn't help. I got 34 in the south. But it's slowly creeping down bit by bit. And motorways is now 30mpg even cruising. Gonna have a tinker see if I have messed something I did up.

Been looking at this exhaust for a while but wasn't sure how it would sound. it sounds great just what I'm after, first good video I have seen for one. I'm sold on it

Am I the only Impreza owner to have this issue?
Jamie_uk replied to Spectra's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
Not much help but my 2010 Impreza does this aswell. Can only presume people before used to jam the thing -
Sorry wasn't sure where to post this, eurocarparts has a 50% off all engine oil sale on. They have listed 75/90 gulf syngear gearbox oil in the engine oil search accidentally :D 5 1ltr bottles cost me £36 (cheaper than the 4ltr bottle) instead of £72 if anyone's after any go there while the sales on.

Removed front end to find I couldn't fit a mesh sheet instead of the grill without chopping up the existing parts. Gonna have to buy a proper grill afterall. Dammit. Fitted a front lip though and cleaned out radiator while it was off. £15 for lip and fixings. Isn't gods gift but for the price pretty happy with it.
-
But it's on sale on PlayStation network lol gutted when I saw that. That sucks though, this is why games aren't presents! Gamers cannot wait another month for a game after waiting a year

Moderately productive day. Replaced rear diff oil, pretty sure Subaru Employ the hulk they take the mick with how tight the plugs are. Replaced grey Subaru carpets for some blue custom made , quality is ok for £20 anyway. Under sealed back end and behind wheels still need to do front end. Swapped wheels round. Hoovered, reblacked all rubber and plastic. ovation winter tyres, not great but only used 2mm doing 10,000 miles. Thought be burnt up by now tbh want some decent ones on.

Brilliance of Subarus awd!

Yes because people ask how fast it is and I have to explain Subaru did actually make more than the wrx and Sti lol gearbox oil topped up, was well below the low mark and the gear change problems are going away more each Time I use it, gonna do a full change next. Cleaned and mostly waxed ready for more salt.
