  1. my 2.0 hatch also has this greeny dry goo on the pipes, i cleaned most off of the metal work, but taking some moving from the pipes. always wondered what it was. the green on the metal dried pretty horrible tbh, looked like limescale but it was probably there for years.
  2. Fair enough well if I can get to any northeast meets you can jump in see how it is for you. Maybe I just drive in an awkward position
  3. Yeah it's fun to drive, definately compared to my old Clio 1.2 8v lol no comparison. But it does need a bit of a kicking to get shifting. Once the revs are up and kept up it'll go well. Just needs a little more poke or some weight shaving off its fat **** (or mine) to nip it up a little. Gonna put some proper tyres on after winter and see what difference it makes in the corners. Comfortable to be in unless stuck for a few hours in a jam, also if your bigger than 6"2 don't bother. Got the seat all the way back and steering wheel as high as poss and still gotta configure myself into the car.
  4. 39??? I get 28 pottering around in the 2 litre can't understand why the new version of the hatch only comes in a 1.6 petrol
  5. Got room for a pretendy Impreza too? lol. Didn't know there was meets up here
  6. Thanks for the info jay,. I looked at a new one and got an insurance quote which was only 100 ish more than mine originally I didn't even bother searching just presumed it would be a fortune and horrific mpg etc. After joining here I found out they aren't actually that bad then curiosity took over to find the insurance ain't bad either, 25yr old and £800 for a new Sti . So I started searching. I'll hold off for a wile till I learn more and see what comes around. Get to grips working on this aswell
  7. Two nice cars there, I had seen the first one but not the second. Ideally I would want low mileage And unmodified. I would say something that's not been thrashed but that's not gonna happen :D i am gonna ask a proper noob question here, aside from the power what's actually the difference between wrx and Sti? Think better hang fire till I learn more about these cars and save some more
  8. Thanks I'll look about. Going from a 2.0NA hatch so I imagine anything turbo would make me grin. My car has decent pull but lacks that push out the corners tbh. Looked at a wrx hatch but I think it'll always come second to a saloon. Then again all the time and effort spent on mine would be a shame to get rid at a presumably huge loss. But I agree with the mileage. Might shoot the garage a message and see if I can get some pics from underside and engine bay
  9. I did wonder about the price but figured that was just because of low miles. Absolutely love a classic, if I had space I would buy one tomorrow but I need something I can use reliably a lot with of driving around the country did like the idea of limited edition though I would be horrific when having to leave in a car park etc.
  10. Http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201607206019743/sort/atcustom/radius/1501/make/subaru/model/impreza/price-to/14000/page/1/adPos/1/postcode/dh15jq/usedcars?gallery=open hi I have come across this car and looking for any advice on them, wasn't planning on changing car anytime soon however this ticked my fancy something rotten. 50/50 on going and getting it but haven't found much info on them. Any advice appreciated repair costs, part availability etc how bad on fuel is it etc thanks
  11. Gotta watch out for them damn garage doors getting tighter while pulling in too
  12. Damn that's stunning . I would probably sell my butt cherry for this
  13. Painting in the dark last night as per, more blue!
  14. Nothing special just took out insurance. Then made the fatal mistake of curiously looking what it would cost for a 16reg 2.5 Sti. £110 more. Gutted. Anyone wanna buy a car? Lol
  15. Haha ahwell not far off I'm 25, but only really remember the fiesta mk4. Lol he's just looking at you with jealousy
  16. haha i think your going a little before my time tbh lol. though i could just drive around with half my exhaust off. happened to my mate last night, perfect setting, mcdonalds carpark, load of muppets about in their mums corsas etc, exhaust fell off his citroen 1.4 xsara lol sounded unreal, showed them all up haha.
  17. Fair enough just my opinion like. Aye sounds like a plan think I found and exhaust just need to send the seller a message see if it'll fit. Thanks
  18. Nowt wrong with a NA :D I was surprised at first by how many people do have them. Not sure on the gx but the rx hatch weighs nearly 1400kg. Drop some weight and it would shift. Very helpful people on here
  19. Yeah mines the same but I followed the holes where the air comes in and it's a joke. The bonnet covers that feed pipe and its sealed when the bonnets shut. Only the top three grill holes let air in and it's against a flat framework so it doesn't even angle up into the feed pipe
  20. That explains why putting mine in the garage didn't drop my insurance. I was always told it should but atleast it's not just me. Do a mr bean and put a padlock on the door. From reading the manual the Subaru system seems more than enough even has a sound sensing option. Been looking for a tracker but had terrible Experiances with them at work showing things are in different country's to what they are and flattening the battery fully after a few days standing.
  21. Na just the standard 150bhp. Unless the panel filter gave me a major boost lol. Probably pointless anyway since 99.9% of air goes to radiator and 0.01% if I'm lucky actually goes up into the intake. Stupid design the framework doesn't even angle up towards the intake it's just flat metal with tiny gaps leading straight up. Need to leave the bonnet on the latch to actually get any air directly in. Surely the wrx and Sti have a better intake system
  22. Hi please can someone shed some light, I'm looking for an induction kit, seen some universal ones in halfords but not sure if they'll be any good. Had a look at k&n but they are all for the wrx/Sti and come with pipes that won't fit mine so seem like a waste of money. I already have a piper cross panel filter in the box but the air intake sucks. I toyed with a second intake but there's nowhere to run one with how the radiator sits and no access to the front grills. Rather not start drilling holes in the bumper or removing the guard under the front end with how much it rains After the winter I'll be getting an exhaust and remap since mines rusted as hell anyway. Get salt for 4-5 months on the roads so no point doing it yet. Thanks
  23. Sadly the sticker won't go inside my back window so it'll just have to go there.
  24. I'll check my manual. Sure it said something about alarm activation with diff colour lights
  25. both of yours are sounding alot better than mine. think its time to sell some swords and buy an exhaust
