  1. champion thanks alot mate
  2. yeah its a pretty thin and weak coat. thinking of looking into that carbon fibre wrap for the trims sometime. on the test drive i was told to use b for a more accurate count. whats the milage on trip a? mine was showing 29mpg but over 8000miles so no matter how i drove the figure didnt alter. trip b i reset each time i fill up so the mpg will go up and down more frequently.
  3. according to parkers its 1310kg. little lighter than me, how do you find the interior? just developed a seriously annoying creek somwhere on the passenger side of the dash. i do it the old fashioned way and its usually 1-3under what the screen tells me. are you on trip b?
  4. now thats a stunning car, full on stealth mode, untill it revs i imagine. winter is probably best meet time, itll only be us on the road. no annoying bmws taking over the right lane haha
  5. sorry to jump in on this but how do you take the washer covers off? desperate to get in and clean the radiator and do something to the grills. darent pull any harder or stick a screwdriver in. thanks
  6. heavy car small engine, do you have to give it a bit of a kickin when driving around? i get atleast 5mpg more when im in the flat south. hills up here cripple the fuel for me. what fuel do you use? try running some redex type stuff through see if it improves. im due putting something through might drop into halfords tomorrow
  7. I have to 2.0 I got 30-32 average untill recently now I get 25-28 and that's driving like a full on Eco nut. Wondering if I did something wrong with spark plugs or if it's just the colder weather 7c average when I'm driving lately how long have you had it? Not sure about the 1.5 but on mine if you as much as put a feather on the throttle it'll drop to 5-10mpg then cruise between 25-40mpg when you don't touch it lol. Would expect yours to be higher definately than mine
  8. Changed plugs on my 2010 rx few weeks ago they had black wet looking threads too. Was told it was normal
  9. thanks had a look but it looks a bit different. found a samco radiator hose for the wrx hatch, might send them an email think itll be closest or ill try bending my own. slight differences in thicknesses in pretty much every different pipe on the car, awkward sods designed this haha
  10. Measuring for hoses and copex since my awkward car doesn't have a kit strange how coming out to sort a scratch led to this instead
  11. Is there a bottom grille to match this available? How is it fitted? Thanks
  12. Was gonna get this for a laugh
  13. Regional county/Borough/District: Durham Car Model: Impreza hatch 2.0 RX. Any Mods: Panel filter, strut braces. Painted stuff blue if that counts, more to come. Picture:
  14. I got the hks one because it has a magnet in and said higher oilflow. Whether it's any good I have no idea won't find out till I have a problem or do my next oil change
  15. Washed and hoovered then taken to mot. Hate mots lol always had bad luck with them. If it passes I'll have a celebratory drink and the car can have some vpower. If it fails, sainsburies standard unleaded.
  16. my 2.0 hatch also has this greeny dry goo on the pipes, i cleaned most off of the metal work, but taking some moving from the pipes. always wondered what it was. the green on the metal dried pretty horrible tbh, looked like limescale but it was probably there for years.
  17. Fair enough well if I can get to any northeast meets you can jump in see how it is for you. Maybe I just drive in an awkward position
  18. Yeah it's fun to drive, definately compared to my old Clio 1.2 8v lol no comparison. But it does need a bit of a kicking to get shifting. Once the revs are up and kept up it'll go well. Just needs a little more poke or some weight shaving off its fat **** (or mine) to nip it up a little. Gonna put some proper tyres on after winter and see what difference it makes in the corners. Comfortable to be in unless stuck for a few hours in a jam, also if your bigger than 6"2 don't bother. Got the seat all the way back and steering wheel as high as poss and still gotta configure myself into the car.
  19. 39??? I get 28 pottering around in the 2 litre can't understand why the new version of the hatch only comes in a 1.6 petrol
  20. Got room for a pretendy Impreza too? lol. Didn't know there was meets up here
  21. Thanks for the info jay,. I looked at a new one and got an insurance quote which was only 100 ish more than mine originally I didn't even bother searching just presumed it would be a fortune and horrific mpg etc. After joining here I found out they aren't actually that bad then curiosity took over to find the insurance ain't bad either, 25yr old and £800 for a new Sti . So I started searching. I'll hold off for a wile till I learn more and see what comes around. Get to grips working on this aswell
  22. Two nice cars there, I had seen the first one but not the second. Ideally I would want low mileage And unmodified. I would say something that's not been thrashed but that's not gonna happen :D i am gonna ask a proper noob question here, aside from the power what's actually the difference between wrx and Sti? Think better hang fire till I learn more about these cars and save some more
  23. Thanks I'll look about. Going from a 2.0NA hatch so I imagine anything turbo would make me grin. My car has decent pull but lacks that push out the corners tbh. Looked at a wrx hatch but I think it'll always come second to a saloon. Then again all the time and effort spent on mine would be a shame to get rid at a presumably huge loss. But I agree with the mileage. Might shoot the garage a message and see if I can get some pics from underside and engine bay
  24. I did wonder about the price but figured that was just because of low miles. Absolutely love a classic, if I had space I would buy one tomorrow but I need something I can use reliably a lot with of driving around the country did like the idea of limited edition though I would be horrific when having to leave in a car park etc.
  25. Http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201607206019743/sort/atcustom/radius/1501/make/subaru/model/impreza/price-to/14000/page/1/adPos/1/postcode/dh15jq/usedcars?gallery=open hi I have come across this car and looking for any advice on them, wasn't planning on changing car anytime soon however this ticked my fancy something rotten. 50/50 on going and getting it but haven't found much info on them. Any advice appreciated repair costs, part availability etc how bad on fuel is it etc thanks
