The ones round the top and the studs are fairly easy, it's the one underneath between the turbo and pipe that's a f****r to get at a flexible 14mm socket is the easiest option, do you have a new downpipe gasket aswell ? I notice the lambda sensor hole is bunged up behind the turbo, have you relocated it ?

How often do you go off road ? Mine is pretty much road based as I go off road maybe a week a year in total, by which I mean driving round farmers fields and the occasional snow, it copes with all of this no problems on the standard suspension

You need to undo the 4 or 5 bolts on the downpipe which is a challenge in it's self. If you've already done the up pipe bolts it should just come away

Cap states dot3 which has been replaced with dot4, i'm guessing that's what's in there now, will I have any problems just replacing with dot 4 or even dot 5.1 ? Or do I need to flush out with anything 1st, last thing I want to do is rot the insides of my system

Make sure it's silicate, phosphate &aminate free, 90% of coolants are these days but etheleyne glycol stuff contains silicates which eat the water pump impellor , vest bet is getting a longlife O.A.T coolant, most motor factors sell it and Just do a 50/50 mix.

Haha ok well of you've not hunted this info the cs has a Tiptonic gearbox slightly lowered suspension and leather plus body kit over the xt so that reads as not as quick as the sti or as harsh ride and maybe more luxurious interior, Did you cone across the one that appears to be on Gumtree, the bay and trader, white or silver with privacy glass on a brick forecourt ? Good thing about imports is you don't pay stupid tax brackets so may be worth having a peruse some of the later 05 models that will be available for import

They should do however the backbox will need the hangers repositioning and i've been told it needs lengthening by a couple of inches as the way it sits round the diff is different

You're right [emoji51] It's still the 1st gen foz which is pretty much a 'classic ' shape impreza. So brakes and other things are straight swaps, struts and bits like that are almost the same, spring rates are different due to a little extra weight carried by the foz, and top mounts differ, the fronts are the same as classic impreza but the rears are the same as new age cars, Engine is pretty much the same too, just check what version you have, mines a 97 foz which is a ver 3/4 impreza engine roughly speaking
