Had an issue with the car today.had the MAF off & on and when I drove it, it lost power for a second then came on line and flashed chek engine? So I dropped the misses off after taking a slow drive home and took it down the dual carrage way. On my approach in front of me was a really really nice looking forester STI in that dark metallic grey,down the slip road now,and he put his foot down which activated mine! As we picked up speed, I thought is this right ( not sure he'd seen me by this point) I carried on and as it picked up pace he pulled over, so I passed nicely and pulled in ahead, so he passed me and I looked over to give a wave but nothing.he put his foot down again but I was on the boil so same thing happened except I put a lot more distance between us. I wasn't sure if I did the right thing, I mean I'm a friendly guy especially to other subarus but he just kept blanking me ?as I double check when I got to the next set of lights he blanked me again sitting side by side

Morning everyone,specially gambit miggs and jay) So I've got a blow the the driver side manifold area, not got under there yet and mines a twin turbo so could be a number of gaskets.i was just wondering is there a gasket that's always the common one to go on these.chances are once I start I'll end up replacing them all! So I got in this morning and started it up, the fuel pump has always had that buzz but now it's intermittent, is it on its way out? I don't want it cutting out while I'm racing gsxr 600's not that I did that the other day! Last one I've got two recirc valves on mine as it's a a twin.lots of people say to leave it standard and never touch the one on the second turbo which I totally agree with but the first one is on the intercooler just like a normal scooby, so could I change this to a BOV or will I be causing twin turbo problems ?..? Yeah mate do what Pete said first.but I've done quite a few head gaskets in my younger days and it sounds like it but we all hope it isn't good luck mate and think about things logically. Ps) how do check for creamy oil in the head on the flat fours ?

Mate, I put them on ebay two weeks running £ 30 the pair and nothing. You forget how big shocks are until you have a pair laying on the spare room floor

Well they came free with the car, and their taking up the spare room floor as we live in a maisonette and don't really have the space.if no one wants them, I might have to take them to the tip

On Tuesday miggs,sorry i didnt let you know.i used the cam gear you sent as we had to tap and pri the old one off which took a good hour and over night soaking. Car was done just in time so I could use it for band rehearsal

So thanks to miggs and my brother in law,between us we've got the car back on the road.i done the pulley wheel with new woodruff and bolt and cam gear ( from miggs) cambelt,all of the pulleys/ tensioner. Oil seal on pump, thermostat, oil cross over pipe jncluding hoses and oil filter change.iand I just washed all the greasy hand prints off her. Thanks again miggs

Just want to know what the normal engine oil used in the 2.0 litre turbo is.reason I ask is that I just picked up my cambelt kit, and I thought I'd get the oil/ filter while I was there and the dude gave me 10w 60 ?

Yeah totally,my cars old so After a full service I'm going to clean up the engine bay new hoses maybe a tiny bit of colour but nothing goldie looking chain ! I've got green exhaust wrap which looks pretty cool, had to loose the tin ware as it was rusty

My legacy is met blue with met grey wheels and people seem to comment on them as they look a little different. I'm going to put a carbon fibre grille in and under the bonnet with black/ grey samco hoses so it's not in your face but looks good
