  1. Stunning looking car. Not seen one in that colour before.
  2. I'd be quite happy with any..,but as it's sunny I'd got for the jag or Austin or maybe the Dino.
  3. My mate is in a wheelchair. He has an old automatic skyline (on his second now). I think a fair few of them come in auto. Goes like a rocket...but it's tricky as he can't get the chair in the passenger side so has to travel with someone to put it in the boot.
  4. Yea me and the boys saw sun down and sun up playing that
  5. Great looking car. Lovely colour.
  6. Elite Chuckie Egg Micro Machines [emoji106][emoji16]
  7. Probably work trying Japanese performance parts. They specialise in second hand...they ship around the world
  8. Congrats...a few sleepless nights ahead :) When I looked into paint protection general consensus was that you could get it done a hell of a lot cheaper privately than going through the dealer. So I decided to go that route...but then didn't get it done 🙄[emoji15].
  9. With scoobies the cost is mainly down to history of them being stolen. Weakness being the frameless doors. So STI or WRX doesn't really matter to the insurance companies if they are both standard. I got the insurance down a bit with a tracker
  10. I had rubber and bought some of the ones from scoobyworld. I've sold my wrx now but happy to sell the three mats I have cheap if you pick up from Surrey or Essex. Pretty sure I have all but the driver one. I have a carpet driver one going too.
  11. I got both sides for a tenner off one of the breakers on scoobynet.
  12. No, didn't change cat. Duncan at RaceDynamix said I'd make 290 removing that cat. Duncan said he typically gets more from a 2004/2005 blob as opposed to an earlier one. I don't do my own work on my cars any more so it didn't really work out cost effective for me to do the cat (2/3'hrs of labour?) for an extra 18bhp. My Subaru specialist mechanic recommend doing the pump, for an extra £80 not worth taking the risk. Where are you based? I traded in my wrx into a dealer so I removed a few bits that I need to sell cheap
  13. I never really feel I disappeared into the crowd after I changed the back box and got burble. I picked a PPP box was is supposed to be one of the quietist :) So I think if you really want to be discrete it's a standard etc with no mods...or perhaps get a custom made box and tell them you want it quiet. I had a 2004 wrx. I changed panel filter, fuel pump and back box and it was then remapped to 272bhp. It felt like a different car :)
  14. The RS did come out on top. Would always depend on what you want from the car obviously. Was an interesting video :)
  15. I just watched car pool on YouTube. They were testing a load of hatches to see which was best...from memory and I'm really bad with names..," BMW M135i Merc A45 AMG Focus RS Scoob STI Seat Cupra Megan Golf R Made for an interesting watch. I love Subaru. Not driven a new one but I'd test drive a few of the competition after watching that
  16. Yes agreed. They're not rare so just wait for the right one. I sold a 2004 WRX with 3 previous owners and 80k on the clock. I put on 24k of those in the two years I owned it. I'd look for low owners, FSH and under 80k. But that's just me :)
  17. yes, I've not seen many of these on the roads...quite rare. Does look a nice !Removed! :D
  18. Heres an interesting estate for a few quid more. If the mileage can be confirmed and it's good in the flesh with no issues it looks a corker. Could be worth spending a few more quid if it's in really good condition...as it is likely to save you in the long run :) http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201504012238839?model=impreza&postcode=rh20pn&radius=1500&sort=default&price-to=1500&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&page=2&make=subaru&search-target=usedcars&logcode=p
  19. Not much info there...just the spec of the car really. I'd ask...what work has it had in the last two years that you have invoices for and can you tell me the mileage and date for each service. Also what big stuff do you have invoices for? I've travelled 75 miles to see a FSH car only to find he had serviced it every 2-3 years, had no paper work but the stamps in the book...which I could have done with some ink and a potato :D
  20. I've not heard of anything you should be concerned about. The bug eyes are a little more refined and comfortable (can't believe I described an impreza as comfortable lol). I had a bug GX for about 7 years. It was very reliable, nothing ever went wrong...but it was having 6 month services all the time and it was an expensive car to run.
  21. When I ran a 2.0GX the servicing and parts were very similar to a turbo. You'll save on initial cost and perhaps insurance and a little on petrol. If you buy a £1k car it's probably that for a reason...and on any car if you need to replace all tires or discs and pads it'll cost you and arm and a leg relative to the cost of the car. Buy the wrong one and you could easily spend double that on getting it road worthy. My view would be to look at any model car in your price range but look at it very carefully.
