So I'm on nightshift 10 of 14 (back to back,12 hour shifts... the joys of overtime!!) so I've only been doing my commute to work the past week and a bit... Last week I had two incidents with idiot drivers in the space of 12 miles, so I then decided since I'm working so much I'm just going to take my time, drive in the slow lane all the time, resist using boost to put a Honda in it's place etc...

My fuel light just came on tonight... I've racked up 330 miles before the light came on. Who say's Imprezas aren't economical?!?

Well I only do 5500 miles per year at most with both cars so mpg isn't really one of my concerns. I just buy a car if I like it really. At the mileage I do, life's too short imho.

My car isn't even remapped yet... :D

That is impressive maybe I need to try driver better I won't say slower

I do about 180 miles to a tank (JDM GC8 STI). About 18 mpg when calculated brim to brim. Happy as I'm pushing almost 360 bhp. For comparison my other car a Mercedes W140 S320L does 15.5 mpg at 230 bhp lol

You must know the petrol station staff by first names!

Ah that's not too bad then... :D

Every 'decent' run I do (20miles plus on flowing roads) I get 33mpg with a nearly standard 2003 wrx (cat back exhaust, air filter, prodrive y pipe). I daren't work out the day to day and silly moments.....

Although I hear with the decat I've got in the cupboard and a remap it could be even better!

mine has the same levels of modifications... I'm gonna be decatting my up pipe and remapping next year so will be interesting to see what difference it makes to the MPG!!

I think I must drive bad lol.. or best get another remap done :)

To be fair the past few tanks i've barely gone above 4k rpm...mainly coz i've been commuting so much. I'm sure i'll drive a bit more heavy footed once i get the remap done :D

I get about 250 max :( shell points card is helpful!

  • Author

Yeh a shell card is a must!! Especially since you usually get double points with v-power!!

I still haven't decided which brand to use for my Saturdays remap I have Tesco station on my way to work There is also a Shell but the v-power there is absolute rip-off, nearly £1.29 per litre. Next Shell is some 2 miles from me and is normal price there £1.14...

Mine was mapped on tesco but runs better on v power.

My car doesn't like the Tesco stuff... so v-power for me!!

I'll probably stay with Shell. At least I'll have an excuse for a little drive if I need some petrol lol

This could be a new record... still have around 30-40 miles of fuel left with motorway driving!!

IMG_20160303_191638.jpg

On avarage I get 300 miles a tank ~ 31 MPG on a run and 26 around town. Usually on V Power, occasionally Tesco, depending on where I am when the light comes on. Standard car except for Prodrive back box. I'm doing a comparason test at the moment between genuine Subaru airfilter and Pipercross foam panel filter.

  • Author

I currently run a pipercross filter, downpipe back exhaust (I've removed the 3rd cat) and bigger top mount... My car doesn't like momentum but thankfully got plenty of of Shell garages near me!

My record so far 330 before filling up, will see if I can beat that! :D

I used to do about 250 miles with full decat and remap. But one piston sized on my front caliper and it went down to barely 200 miles per tank 😐 I'm fitting new calipers tomorrow so should be a bit better. Not sure how much tho as I have now bigger injectors and VF35... 😁

Managed heady 38mpg once on a long trip, usual motorway 30-34 urban 28ish

Saying that I can empty half a tank in 20 mins if really trying

38mpg is mighty impressive! If I can get to around 330-340 miles on a tank I i would be mightily happy, that's better than i managed out of my 1.6 207!!
