Piggysniffer
Wtf ! All covered on warranty I hope... welcome mate 👍
Scoobyghost
If it's a trader and no warranty you can still claim under sales of goods and services act providing it wasn't sold as spares/repairs. Shouldn't need to throw that about unless it gets messy.

It's going into they're garage tonight they already said there not sure what warranty I have but I've only had it 10 days so will be an interesting few days. Just a shame it went before the weekend! 😤

Xitwoundz
Small update gearbox is covered by warranty however i have been informed that the 5 speed gearbox it has isnt suitable for the current power 340hp ish. anyone know much about this ? as they have said i will need to change it to the 6 speed sometime in the future . any information would be appreciated
Sandals
The 5 speed is good to around 350ish hp... so you're not far off!

I think a 6 speed conversion is possible but I think you may need more than just the gearbox, probably need the rear diff from an STI as well... not sure tho, I'm sure someone else can give you more info! GeoffLeggy
If you've got £3K + then def go for it! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-to-2005-Subaru-Impreza-wrx-STi-JDM-6speed-TY856WB4KA-Gearbox-Kit-DCCD-/181933898667?hash=item2a5c1afbab:g:NUkAAOSwcdBWSf6M
Sandals
Yikes! So it is essentially an entire drivetrain swap!

GeoffLeggy
Depends I think on what version you pinch it from but someone else will know more. Can't see the cost being drastically cheap.
savage bulldogs
If you can find a 6 speed with the ratio as your current 5 speed, you can do the conversion with .... 6 speed box , cradle, prop, gearstick and linkage . As you can use the 5 speed clutch ,fly, slave and drive shafts . Although fitted the 6 speed clutch ,fly and starter motor when doing my conversion .As the 6 speed fly and clutch is slightly bigger in diameter and therfore handles a bit more power . I was lucky enough to find a 6 speed conversion kit (clutch included )for just under £1,500 [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
