Plugs 30 min job a lot of stuff needs to be move there are how to guides on the forum all scoobies are very similar and the steps won't vary much between models. Scoobyghost
All easily accessible. Simple job. I'd recommend watching someone do it first time round if you're worried.

Sirspidey
Excellent on the oil change. One I can do my self. Haven't looked yet at it yet, but does the oil filter have to be put back with a certain torque?
JamesJDMwagon
Yes hand tighten 😊 If you tighten it too much there very annoying to remove. You should be able to unscrew the old by hand if you can't just hammer a screwdriver in and use it to turn it. Alternatively buy a filter tool/strap. But don't use it to put the new one on. JamesJDMwagon
Depends on your model year and what you do with the car. I daily mine and run a good quality 10w40 semi syn (Castrol) it's a 94 with a few mods. 👌
Sirspidey
It's a 2005 wrx, used daily, but not far. And as it new a bit of a drive most nights. I'm sure that will change (hope not lol).
Tidgy
Fully synthetic is what you want on a turbo'd car. 5/4- 1-/40 seem to be the preferred weight depending on who you ask. Cheapest place i find to be Opie Oils. I'd change yours to fully synthetic when you do the next change james
david1972
Yep 5/40 fully synth is where I'm heading when I change mine Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
GeoffLeggy
@david1972 If you can get under the car enough it's easy. @Sirspidey you can find a cosworth panel filter on eBay mate. 5W 40 usually use mobil but just whacked in some castrol edge titanium for a change. I change my oil every sub 1000 miles. Even more relevant if you run higher bhp, as Tidgy says it surprising how quick it gets manky. I pay £65 for an oil and filter change so don't really worry about it to keep it tip top. But saying that it takes 3 months to do the milage. At the moment I have a hks filter but would normally have Subaru.
