That coolant tank sitting on top of the intake manifold near the turbo? That's to cool off your turbo.

Unless you've upgraded, the factory turbo is water cooled. It's the reason why most modern turbo cars don't need turbo timers from factory.

Can always take it of and give it a clean (sand paper etc) give it a coat of old rattle can (block up the holes first) and put it back on, save yourself a fortune

Agree either remove the top plate or alternatively the whole tank and paint it. I removed the whole tank and painted it black using red lead undercoat. A word of warning if you do remove it the hose attached to the filler cap on mine was very stiff to get off been on since day of manufacture and ended up snapping the filler neck off. Flea bay replacement cost £25 for the whole tank.

I might buy a replacement paint it the just swap over for 25 quid.il see if i can find one
