tom_gr7 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Yes mate...weekends best for me; generally Saturday's Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah a Saturday would be best for me too. We could set a date in March? As that would give us a few weeks to get the word out and find a decent location. I do see quite a few scoobs in the NE so it would be good if we could get a few together.
Scoobyghost Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 About to order some fancy vacuum pipe. Can anyone tell me roughly how much I need in metres and what mm I need to complete it. Thanks in advance!
stants Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 How much do you want to do ? If I remember correctly 3mm internal diameter about six foot should do it and leave you a but to use else where if needed
Scoobyghost Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Ideally all of it. I'm going to wave my "complete novice" card in the air. I have no idea what parts to do. Just want fresh pipework and a bit of colour.
savage bulldogs Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I ordered 1mtr of 3mm (already got 1mtr) and 2 mtrs of 6 mm . My Quantities are Probably not much use (due to my custom set up) but 2 of my boost solenoid ports are 6mm id . So double check the dia of yours bud
stants Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 I'd maybe get a couple of meters of each diameter, 3mm for turbo vac and some of the smaller stuff running off the inlet 5mm for other bits and possibly the bigger hose for anything else,

Sounds good mate...you want to put something in the NE section? Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
Scoobyghost Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I'll probably start with the turbo vac lines. So I'll grab 2M to be safe. I'll see how it looks and I'll have a good fiddle about to measure the rest. Despite having the cambelt and full service few weeks ago I'm still baffled by the sheer amount of pipes and wires all over the place. [emoji15]
stants Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Don't loose the restrictor pill from the lines near the turbo or you be stuffed !
Scoobyghost Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Almost forgot about that! Thank you stants. Looking on scoobyworld I don't know whether to go for the blue or red. I think blue is better under the bonnet but I want to go with red flaps. Don't think any other colour goes with silver.
stants Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Lol red flaps ! I know your predicament I wasn't gonna go for red but the i/c I bought of sav had a red silicone hose attached, sort of sealed the deal for me then
Scoobyghost Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hmm didn't think that through. I might not go shouting about my red flaps. I'm gonna have a look at some red engine bays.

savage bulldogs Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I went for red vac lines with the blue inlet and blue coolant hoses on my v3 Tmic But the hdi fmic had blue silicone joiners I've ordered some black vac lines to fit in the v1 bay now as ive changed the inlet colour and used some more blue silicone rerouting pipes and fitting the catch can

Scoobyghost Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 The blue pipes look smart against the red inlet. I went for red vac lines. Only £1.97 from the bay of E. For that I'm willing to chance it and have a look. I'll need to match all my water pipes next.
majik_thighs Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 That's a work of art oh savage one! [emoji120] Sent from my Galaxy S 5 using Tapatalk 1
Gaulson Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 This weekend I'm going to start stripping my car of it's damaged panels ready for new ones :). I'm missing the car loads! EDIT: Savage that engine bay is like !Removed!, some great work :D. Was it hard work reversing the inlet?
majik_thighs Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 How you getting on with the Seat?............I hated those stupid criss-cross wipers. Looks like your forever giving the Team America secret sign. I had a Seat something or other as a courtesy car and the wipers actually parked in the pillars, sounded like I had a roof rack on!
Gaulson Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 It's alright, good on fuel just boring to drive! The wipers on mine are normal thank god. if it helps... it's blue?
R4WLV Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Don't loose the restrictor pill from the lines near the turbo or you be stuffed ! Does my 2010 model have a restrictor pill? If so which pipe is it in? Changing the hoses is something I'd like to do soon.
stants Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 I have no idea mate, not even sure what set up the new ones run, do you have a pic of the engine bay you can post up ?
R4WLV Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Not at the mo. I'm in Blackpool. If no one has answered later I'll post one up.
stants Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 No worries, at a guess I'd say it probably has as I doubt they've changed the set up too much over the years I'll have a dig around see what I can find out
