Think both having a esl board fitted and a second hand apexi are probably about the cheapest options , at around £350 + mapping . Although apexi is old tech , its tried n tested and has a hand controller to monitor parameters while driving. Unfortunately at 382hp I need to use a mafless set up, so I'll be going for a link g4 ECU soon at just over £800 +mapping costs . Bear in mind ,If you have a tdo4 or grey injectors, you won't see much above 290hp no matter which ECU option you choose ,bud 😉

Could try Ray at "automotive repair panels " on Facebook, he stocks a few repair sections for newage and they seem to get good feedback on fitment/quality

Always nice to see a scooby getting some TLC, if you have Facebook? Try ray at "automotive repair panels " he has most of the common tin worm replacement sections in stock .

Have you tried leaving the battery on the car disconnected for a long period ? As this might "reset" the key pad ? I've never tried it myself but it might be worth a try to see if it drains the alarms internal battery enough to factory rest it . I had a Clifford alarm issue and used a mobile alarm fitter "Suffolk car alarms" think it was just under £300 . To supply n fit a thatcham certificate alarm with integrated turbo timer . Mark is based in cambridge but can come to you , within a reasonable distance. If not it might be worth looking into a more local mobile alarm filter -
Coming along nicely, bud 😎 What turbo and injectors does it have ? I'm just across the boarder on the south Suffolk coast and always use Clive attowe tuning in Norwich . if yours is a v2 the standard ECU isn't mapable , so you'd either need to get a esl daughter board fitted but attowe doesn't map esl due to it not being a licensed software. Or a aftermarket stand alone ECU link ,apexi ect . I'm currently running apexi f.c (which attowe does do) but will be looking to replace it with a link ECU due to my maf being maxed.

Intro and a note about my VW conversion project

Hi n welcome. Bug (2000) impreza onwards ecus can be mapped via ecutek or carberry software, so you might be able to "map out " the abs issues. Certainly worth looking into . As for the car in the corner Mitsubishi starion ? . Either way feel free to start a build thread on here ,to log your progress -

Fast road Geometry now done and happy to say that it's back to cornering like it is on rails ,rather than driving like a crab lol . There seems to be less nose lift under boost and nose dive under braking too 😎 So it seems the anti lift kit ,bushes and H brace are doing their thing 😎 Trick up pipe seems to have made it spool slightly quicker , which is nice but probably means it will need a map tweek again 🙄 Or a full remap on a new link g4+ ecu 😉 -

Missed that flat 4 roar but she's back on all fours , waxed and ready for the geometry set up tomorrow afternoon 😎 Bit of dew on the car this morning and the wax is doing its thing ,making the "boring 406 silver" fleck come alive 😎 -
2007 legacy gt spec b auto to manual conversion
savage bulldogs replied to r666 gtb's topic in Subaru Legacy Club
Not too clued up on legacy or auto stuff tbh but I think Reverse and neutral wires are the black and white plugs that sit on the passenger side of the box . I had to swap those and the manual speedo drive from my 94sti ty52 5 speed onto my 04 sti ppp 6 speed . In order to make everything work -
Heating issue
savage bulldogs replied to ROSSCOSM's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
The thermostats don't often fail , so its probably a air lock . I'd say its probably worth draining the coolant and refilling but if you do that you might as well chuck a new stat in while its empty . Bear in mind that the rads do tend to crack near that hose that you replaced , so keep a eye in that area , just in case the plastic bits of the rad have a split somewhere 😉 -

His website was a bit "button moon" last time I looked but phone him and he'll take the time to discuss options that suit you best .Rather than just selling you anything and everything expensive 👍 Unfortunately I've lost my tried n tested fast road set up but think I've found one similar to try . As for the scoob , it's back together at last 😎 Anti lift kit ,bushes ,wishbones (not tacky anymore ) headers , new o2 sensor , harvey trick up pipe and cusco H brace fitted . Gotta find some new split pins for the bottom balljoint nuts , before dropping it on all fours but rest of the bay is back together too 😎 So hopefully I'll get booked in somewhere this week to get the alignment done -
Although it's a low mileage example, condition and model spec does still play a big part in value. Is it a uk turbo 2000 ,does it have anything spec'd from new (prodrive ,dealer extras ect ) ? Price does vary a fair bit on classics, as you can pick up a rusty dog for £2k ,pay £7k for a clean sti ,£15k for a type r or £200k for a 22b . If it's a uk turbo they do tend to be a lesser value but if condition matches mileage, it would be worth a bit more than the average uk car . Post a few pics and list a bit more detail and I'm sure you'll get a few more opinions of value ,bud

Had a call from Alyn at Asperformance yesterday afternoon , saying he'd sourced a new subaru early o2 sensor 😎 And it landed on the door matt at 9am this morning 😊 So just need a break in the weather to get the old girl back together, then book in a geo for early next week 😎 -
Had a few gm's myself in the past but I bought my first scooby a decade ago and haven't looked back . There's a buying guide that lists common things to look for in the impreza section , let us know and post some pics when you find one 😉

Surprised to see that sort of corrosion on a 12 year old car but nice work nipping it in the bud ,bud 👍 Already putting your mark on the new project too, nice work chap 😉

I dare say now you have the correct springs and not the nascar ones , you'll get the most from those coilovers 😎

My mapper tends to spend a lot of time mapping off boost and part throttle, so my emissions have always been good . Even managed 310 miles from a tank , admittedly it was mainly motor way miles though . V1/V2 set up has the 02 sensor pre up pipe and they seem to never go wrong. Not sure if when they moved the o2 to the neck of the downpipe (v3 onwards) whether they changed the sensor type as well as position and loom plug . Either way , it's made finding a new oe subaru o2 sensor for a v1/V2 quite difficult. Looks like Alyn as Asperformance has sourced one 😎 but it won't be here till next week, due to the bank holiday 😏 Mind you even once it's all back together and the o2 sensor fitted , I wont be driving anywhere until I get the 4 wheel alignment re done . As I don't want to scrub my front tyres to bits 😉 -

Cheers chap, will admit the dynax has given them a more matt finish but tbh I'm hoping once it's back together.... I won't have the car up on axle stands for a while , so I won't see them very often 🤞 Its turning out to be a bit of a pita to source a genuine early o2 sensor and I've been quoted nearly £170 😏 Mind you the early o2 sensors don't tend to fail often , I'm fairly certain that the one that's stuck in the bung is the 26yr old original. So hopefully once I get a new one , i won't have to replace it anytime soon -

Although I couldn't hear any difference in noise from the crack in the headers , it's definitely been blowing bad and has cooked the paint on the underside of the cam cover 🙄 Ideally I'd like another decent set of headers but this years budget is fubared, due to the stroker build . Haven't made the prettiest job of wrapping the oe ported headers but I did leave the oe crossover heat shield on and double up the wrap where the headers pass around the oil filter 😉 Headers and trick up pipe fitted . Both wishbones sealed with dynax and fitted loosely, as I need to refit the downpipe before fitting the H brace to the wishbone mounting bolts 😉 Unfortunately the original o2 sensor on a v1 is pre up pipe (in the header collector) and I think the excessive heat in that area has cause it to weld itself into the old cracked headers. Completely ripped the o2 sensor bung outta the old headers trying to remove it , so I need to find a oe replacement 🙄 But shes about 3 hrs work from booking a geo now 😎 -

Got the wishbones ,trailing arms and lateral links back with the bushes pressed out . Brass wheel , wire wool and a coat of metal polish later ... Looking much better , guess I'd better get the other one done seal them up and get em fitted 😊 -
Hi n welcome, looks like you're gonna need to keep the welder handy but nice to see one being saved rather than just scrapped 😎 Don't know if you've sourced any repair panels yet but have a look for "automotive repair panels " on face book. Rat does some fair priced repair panels for imprezas 😉

I've contributed to a fair few threads on tech stuff , as I'm always willing to share what I've learned along the way . Only 2 build threads though but get a cuppa coffee and a sandwich if you intend on reading the v1sti "few pics of my project so far " thread . As its fairly long but does have a couple of engine builds and vids of it putting the 382 hp worth of boost n burble down 😊. The "v7sti type uk engine refresh" thread , is just what it says on the tin but shows a few pics of my old bug sti and the engine build 🙁 -

I'm happy with how well the bits n bolts came up but a bit gutted I still haven't got the wishbones back yet and it's still in bits 😏 Unfortunately you can expect a few pipes under the bonnet to get brittle ,after 25 years of heat cycling, I do have a few spare pipes from my oe v1 inlet kicking about but couldn't tell you which ones or what condition they're in . As they're all 26 years old too 😊 Might give my mate a nudge this evening, see if he's pressed out those old bushes yet 🤞 -

There's a bit of bug sti engine info in my "v7sti engine refresh " thread in the build thread section on here . Don't get me wrong I'm glad I kept my 94sti but the daily audi a4 20t is much more boring than the bug to drive 😏
