these valves are known issues but as yours is a 2008 it'm a bit confused as Subaru did modified them since 2007 due this corrosion problem. they made some parts from plastic to prevent corrosion.
now yours is a TX what means your ECU is programmable with the possibility to disable the dreaded valve codes and remove these valves all together to prevent any issues in the future.
this system is only used for about 40sec when starting from cold to inject air to warmup the cat quicker.
ding dong, yes indeed. i can still get mud out when knocking on the side skirt :o
i might even remove them to see how bad it is but i'm afraid to break the clips so i hold on for now
it's the RMP's what's important not really the gear you are in, diesels do have high torque at low rpm
fuel filter might have a tap to realise water at the bottom of the filter but i'm not familiar with the Subaru diesel engine
sorry mate but thats the reason for me to abandon the idea of having a full PC in the car years ago... i was already building one first Windows later Linux but stopped
these days you get China boxes cheap as chips, they are instant booted and do all if not more then a carputer sad but true
you can find it in the manual http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/5073-subaru-category-1-alarm-system-cards/ of your alarm or do a search on this forum to get an answer...
agree with Mr B, shocks are shot. i had the same with my 2003 XS back in Australia. the only thing i wonder about is that you still can drive her and not feeling any sweeping from the back when driving over bumps at speed
MOT here in the UK they don't have shock test ramps as in other countries. compared with some other countries the UK MOT is a joke IMHO
