  1. Check out sheffield subaru service mate, http://www.subaruservicingyorkshire.co.uk/home for the exhaust, you could check out longlife dealers in your area. I'm sure there will be plenty of exhaust places in Sheffield.
  2. gutted mate, hope that you manage to get it sorted. It's probably worth taking it to an independent Subaru garage/mechanic for a quote/bit of advice.
  3. Some scruffy !Removed! has ditched 6 old tyres at the end of my drive. Who the !Removed! abandons six old miss matched tyres?
  4. Hi mate, welcome to the club. I live in Hartlepool I'll keep my eye out for ya and give ya a wave :) Nice motor btw :)
  5. I'm so glad I've got a dash cam. I must get cut up almost two to three times a week and I only have a short 4-5mile commute to work. Most of the time it's idiots pulling out on roundabouts or not looking over their left/right shoulders and cutting me up.
  6. My folks bought a new suzuki recently... turns out they don't like it... I said "well i did tell you to get a forester."
  7. Nice looking motor mate, good mileage too. out of interest, how much are you looking for?
  8. Just paid my car tax, 290 quid and i dont even get the little disk to pop in my window...
  9. I always thought you couldnt put a scooped bonnet on a N/A car. As this would allow water into the engine bay... which would lead to rust?
  10. Cheeky !Removed!. Get it on facebook and Uklegacy mate.
  11. Yay i always get excited when i see a legacy:) Make sure you check the rear wheel arches for rust. And if its a twin exit exhaust check the y piece.
  12. could always go for a 1.5Impreza mate, would be less on the insurance. (but probably still expensive). I'd imagine that you are going to pay through the nose for insurance on a 2ltr impreza mate.
  13. Just seen a neighbour washing his bmw with one bucket and a sponge. Hahah
  14. haha I have no idea tbh. I'd imagine it would need a new gearbox+clutch and a whole load of other parts too haha
  15. yea very dangerous mate. Found a brand new 3.6ltr tribeca engine on ebay.... gives me another crazy idea haha
  16. bugger, looking at imports again... :( fancy a 3.6 legacy :)
  17. I think i'm going to give mine a wash tomorrow :) then going for a curry in the evening. Fancy something spicy :)
  18. hi mate welcome, looking forward to seeing some pictures. A Subaru for your first car, not bad mate :)
  19. welcome to the club mate. Pictures are mandatory btw mate :)
  20. I'm no car guru, so i'll advise the best as i can mate. 2006 I've got a 2.0R legacy and completely love it. Really nice to drive and the AWD is great in the winter and gives the car a nice solid/planted feeling when driving. If i was to get another legacy, I'd almost certainly get a 3.0ltr rather than a 2.0 or a 2.5ltr. The 3ltr is a 6clyinder engine and yes it is chain driven. Both the 2ltr and 2.5ltr's are not chain driven. I believe the 3ltrs are about 240bhp compared to about 165ish in the 2.0R's. Certainly worth checking out the service history. Oh and the 3ltr post 2006 versions are £480 per year in tax. The pre 2006 versions are £285 afaik. I cant comment on the mpg of the 3ltr's but it will run best on shell vpower or tesco momentum. in my 2.0 I tend to get around 35mpg the majority of the time. With the legacy's you have to watch the rear wheel arches(there's a lip that tends to collect **** and rusts). Also if the exhaust is a twin exit, you will need to check the Y piece, as these tend to rot/rust - easiest solution is to have a stainless steel exhaust fitted cost ya about 400-500 quid. - Unless its been done already that is. oh and I find legacy parts easily available, importcarparts and Ebay tend to sell everything required. There's a seller on ebay called Impartsb46 who sells genuine subaru parts brand new and cheap. Hope this helps. We have a couple of 3ltr members that I'm sure will be able to advise :)
  21. Camping again this weekend, theres a few scoobs here, 3ltr outback, 2ltr diesel xv and a 2ltr foz xt... planning to pop along m say hello :)
  22. Hi mate, Check ebay, plenty of breakers on there, im sure someone will have one.
  23. I'd take it to a specialist first, get the suspension looked at and checked over first. You could take it to these guys in Buxton, up harpur hill way i think. - http://www.autotecnica-subaru.co.uk/ I've not used them, but i've heard good things about them. Ps, im from your neck of the woods :)
