  1. Yes......The 1st time I went up to Edinburgh from Accrington I set the cruise at 68 MPH purposely and I got 30 MPG. Around town its around 22-25. I use mine as a work horse so I need the best MPG really but the 3 ltrs performance I think is well worth it. Just now and then I take the trainer-wheels off her and give her a boot full and it brings a warm glow inside and a big smile outside. The 2.5 will get you closer to 40 on a run and maybe 33-35 around town....they are a handy beast but they don`t come close to the 3 ltr.
  2. I live just outside Accrington lancs. Ive had 4 Outbacks from Bolton, Blackpool, Rotherham....and my last, the one I have now Came from Haslingden which is about 5 miles away....the last 3 I found on Ebay......they are worth the trip! You get a lot of car for you money you really do.
  3. All of the above except for timing belt applys to both 2.5 and 3ltr models!
  4. I already posted in your other thread but........service history is a must!.......timing belt changed? (If you go for a 2.5) give it a good test drive, listen for any noise from the drive train, wheel bearings etc...... check the oil/water...the usual, how clean is the engine compartment, have a right good nosey underneath with a torch if poss. They are pretty much indestructible as long as they`ve not been thrashed around off-road too much. Start her up and give it a minute or 2.....you should now not be able to hear or even feel that the engine is running....the 1st couple of days with my 3 ltr o5 when I stopped at the lights I thought the engine had stalled. And it should also feel as comfy as your couch! Hope you get a nice clean one matey. ;)
  5. You will love it!......and they are chain driven.....bomb proof, make sure they have the full service history and your good to go! Come back here and share your experience with the class please.
  6. They have the kits on Ebay, Quite inexpensive for what you get as the end result! I may have a go myself. :) Oh.....the link in post # 15 is not working, try this one: http://www.mydipkit.co.uk/gallery.html ;)
  7. Did they take out the chicken wire and logo or did they mask it up? Looks stunning by the way, pity you can`t drive around with the bonnet up
  8. I`m an Outback person myself but I actually like the look of the Tribeca! :) Theres one living not too far away from me.
  9. Lovely clean machine there Rick!
  10. Now the new bumper is on it looks like its self again :) And the "OUTBACK" decals for the front seats, I think they look good. The 200 OB I had did have "OUTBACK" stitched in the leather front seats but was very hard to see.
  11. Actually, it looks like an octopus
  12. May be a tad too early for me as i`m confined to barracks with a prolapsed disk which is compressing a nerve, so i`m dosed up with industrial strength painkillers until they can get me repaired. But keep reminding me please. ;)
  13. I have one.......it's a bit too thick to fotocopy but if there anything specific you need to know PM me.
  14. If its your 11st OB you will be pleasantly surprised. I'm on my 5th. All petrol, I did say I would be looking for a diesel this time but a 3 ltr petrol caught my eye and I could not resist her good looking body and flat 6 engine. And she's a right go'er.
  15. How easy is it to get a new key fob?
  16. I give mine a good blasting with a degreaser, leave it for 15 minutes and power wash mine....never cover up anything, usually dry in no time. Yours looks ace!
  17. Thought I would post this sexy picture! Go on.....you know you want to and no-ones looking And you could eat your dinner off it!
  18. Don't they all come with those.? I have them for my outback
  19. You'll get the code by phoning any subaru dealer, I just did the very same thing the other week.
  20. This is my 4th Outback, all 2nd hand....started with a 98 in the nice metalic red with grey cladding, arches, skirts and bumpers. Then a 200 model in green with the same grey cladding etc. Then a 2004 in a similar green, not sure what the exact name for the colours are. All 2.5 flat fours and all just as bomb-proof :D Now ive gone for the H6 3litre, all one colour with relly good spec, mind you they are all well apointed with leather, cruise etc. This one has the built in Kenwood nav system. I`m going to get the paintwork minted up in a few weeks, its not bad by any means but the car needs to look in its Sunday best :D
  21. Can you post a pic of yours and the specs? Welcome to the Subaru experience......there is no substitute!
