I would recommend doing it, you will be maxing out the fuel pump. They are very straight forward to swap out, took me around an hour to do. Who's mapping it?

Plenty of folk on here who have classics and love them! Have you looked at how much it would be to insure? Could be pricey for a 21 year old...

Yeh you can put a big turbo on it but have it mapped for low boost, thus less power!
Well, further down the road would probably be easier to buy an STI with a blown engine, stick your lump in it and off you go. Especially since the 6 speed conversion is around 2k
Pretty sure the 5 speed is only good for 350... unless the WRX boxes got stronger with the hawk? Not sure...

Maybe the pipe has come off the turbo, worth checking to make sure everything is connected from the turbo out to the throttle body
Yes. You will no doubt have some metal stuff in your oil from the engine bedding in. Best to change the oil to get rid of it, an oil change from a good garage should be less than 100 quid
