  1. According to BP... it's between 98 and 100 http://www.bp.com/content/dam/bp-country/en_au/media/fuel-news/fuel-octane-power.pdf
  2. Sorry, didn't realise classic airboxes were that different from newages!
  3. Welcome to the club!
  4. Have you tried revving the engine with your head in the engine bay to see if you can hear where the noise is coming from?
  5. They looked daft with the standard wheels... probably could take someone's legs off with them if you drove too close XD
  6. My parents have a new Quashqui with the dinky 1.2l turbo. Still slow as balls... should've been a 2l! :D
  7. Short term? No... Long term? Increased risk... good excuse to go out driving, find your closest 99 RON supplier!
  8. It's @aucky that's selling them. ( @stants )
  9. The American cars will be tuned to run on their grade/quality of petrol and atmospheric conditions. Obviously the lower octane rating, the greater chance of knocking... and I think knocking can lead to ringland failure(?), which is something the 2.5's are known for. I still think getting your car mapped would be a good idea, at least then it will be tuned specifically for the petrol etc. Obviously using 99 RON is the best idea
  10. Those wheel nuts don't really suit the standard WRX wheels.. they stick out quite far
  11. Not all of them no, some are just a big bolt like the oil sump. Best just jack it up and have a look!
  12. I get over 50mpg in my wife's 1.3 Yaris... it also takes around 3 days to get to 60!
  13. Best way to make your car feel even faster... drive something slow for a few days then go back to your scoob!!
  14. Might have to do more hunting for 99 octane then @Seminole81
  15. Do it!!
  16. Yeh, then I think you will need to get the STI scoop as I don't think the STI undertray fits under the WRX scoop
  17. Remember that American cars will probably have a different tune on them. Might be a good idea to get it on a rolling road to get it checked and maybe tweaked/tuned
  18. Hahahaha!! Bet that hit you in the baws hard XD
  19. V-power and Tesco 99 is the best as it's the highest octane rating, should be OK with 97...
  20. Where can you get it from? How much is it?
  21. Glad to hear it! I would expect you should get no less than 250 per tank, less if you hoon it everywhere. I was averaging 260-280 when i first got mine, then once i settled down and got used to the car, consistently get over 300 miles
  22. ooooh that looks nice... I'm not a huge fan of the low level spoiler either... but don't want to go full STI spoiler
  23. Got quite a big MPG thread on the go... I would expect, if you can drive it sensibly once you have gotten used to the car, around the 300 miles to a tank mark. To help things, I would fire some redex fuel additive to a couple of full tanks to help clean out the fuel system, this can help power and efficiency.
  24. I removed my resonator and left it as is... had zero issues in the 2 years that i've been running it like this
  25. Get the oil from Opie oils as you will get a club discount using code: SUBOC
