  1. From what I've seen they are both susceptible... I think the WRX head gasket going is more common thatn ringland failure... @aucky had a WRX hatch and his HG went... can't remember how many miles it had on it, don't think it was loads?
  2. For the cost of a set of braided lines... you may as well do it if you're swapping calipers over.
  3. The needle was still going down so I still had fuel... that was my logic :D
  4. Looking good :D
  5. Seen some fail at less than 40k... seen some go at close to 100k... some don't go at all, it's just your luck. But there are more cases of ringland or head gasket issues with the 2.5 compared to the 2.0 Few people on here have experienced this... maybe be an idea to set some money aside if you do go down that route... ye know... just in case! Welcome to the club! :D
  6. No but you need to remove the coil packs... if the plugs haven't been done in a while, you may as well change them as they are accessible at this point. I did it when i changed my gasket last year
  7. I put around 11 gallons into the tank... so around 34mpg. Which means that I had around 2 gallons left in the tank! Think it's a 13 gallon tank...
  8. New personal best!
  9. The wheels are, had them refurbished in gold... bought the nuts to go along with them, those nuts only lasted a year
  10. I had those nuts... be careful, i changed them because they were becoming quite rusty... the last nut was so rusted I had to hammer the key in to be able to remove it.
  11. Welcome to the club! What mods does it have to be running that amount of power?
  12. Welcome to the club!
  13. Unfortunately not since you have to remove the airbox and battery for access... so around an hour
  14. Ah ok, plugs would be a reasonably easy thing to check/replace if you're handy with a spanner
  15. Half way through the film he gets ringland failure....
  16. I would put some redex through a full tank of fuel. Only about a fiver gets you two doses. Should clear any crap in your fuel lines and injectors. Probably the easiest thing to try first...
  17. http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=314_315&osCsid=1mmpvtkclhorld0ph7shledll7 I recently got the Muteki ones in black... they need a key to take each one off so no need for a single locking wheel nut
  18. Might be onto a personal record. Drove like a granny to my in-laws and back (around 130 mile round trip)... mainly motorway. Currently just above half a tank and have covered 203 miles! Gonna keep driving like a wuss and see what i can get :D
  19. Welcome to the club! Has it been turned over every now and again? I would expect a lot of rubber hoses to be dried and brittle so double check all of them, battery will no doubt need to be replaced. Would change all fluids along with the timing belt and water pump to ensure everything is fresh.
  20. Welcome back!
  21. 65k is still very low mileage... the 2 litre (if well maintained) tend to run for a long time. Few folk on here who are part of the 150k+ club and still going strong! The 2.5 however is the one to be wary of, some people have no issues, others either have HG failures or ringland issues. Doesn't seem to be a specific mileage either...
  22. Same one I've got... good choice :D
  23. I went for the mini mudflaps from scooby world... i like the discrete factor of them
