Smells a bit fishy. With no catalytic converter there is no way a car will pass an emission test. Were the garage aware of it being a decat? Is it actually decat or are you using the term decat meaning non resonated?

It's one of those that will be hard to tell. My track day was cancelled due to weather so I wasn't able to test it fully. Rebooked for 18th January.

Which clutch depends on what power you have. The job will be a lot more difficult than smaller cars. Don't get a paddle clutch. Great for launching and racing but horrible for town/traffic/hillstarts.

More like yesterday, but attempted to fit my baffle plate. Pretty much got it done. Not as bad of a job as it's made out. Got to the fitting stage and ran out of light, patience and tools. Bottled it and put it in to a garage today. If anyone tells you a sump change can't be done on a drive, they just haven't got the bottle. Won't say it's an easy one but certainly doable.

Tim, Just got myself a sump baffle plate to help with track days. Looking for a recommended oil for a classic impreza, modified(276hp) on 177k miles. 1-2 track days a year if I'm lucky. Do oil changes approx 2-3k mile intervals. Barely cover 2-3k miles a year now so limited use.

Got some goodies. Anyone have experience with these baffles? Taking a bit of a risk, trial and error fixing the boost issue I had at Silverstone. Got brands in 3 weeks so get this in an test it.

There's a few of us going. Should get some good footage.

Ordered a sump baffle, gasket, three bond and oil service kit in prep for the old girl doing a brands hatch open pit day.

Any bubbles in the overflow tank? A sniff test could help diagnose. When you say "which side", if it is head gasket don't try to fix just one side and even then don't just do the head gasket. You'll want to refresh the whole bottom end for.peace of mind.

Don't be put off by high milers either. I bought mine 3 years ago on 158k mile. Now on 176k mile and I've had it mapped to 276hp. Its done Silverstone and a few runs at santa pod. Worse expense was a gearbox seal (which I sort of broke when crunching 2nd gear, whoops). Had other bits replaced at a cost of £510. Smiles per miles has never been at a better value.

Got a total of 350mi and it took 11.3 gal to fill.

Thread revival [emoji5] Having to use my car for work this week and so far managed 234mi and still have over a 1/4 left.

May I suggest you refresh the bottom end, the heat may have caused damage to the bearings. You wouldn't want to pay out on HG repair for the bottom end to give up a few months later.

Just insured my missus on a 13 plate fiesta ST for £800ish a year. She's only had her full license a month. Only took her near on 6 years to finally take the practical. Passed first time and all that. Called up flux for myself with the scoob. They quoted me 900 with a black box! I'm only paying 650 now with all details identical. Fell off my chair when I heard that.

You'd certainly see blue smoke of it was turbo oil seals. Can you see under the rocker covers? Especially under drivers side near the turbo uppipe. Its a hot spot so usually goes brittle. Run your hand under the cover when cool to give it a good check.

How have they warped so quick? [emoji33]
