as it cycles in startup mode I would check the sender unit

They will unfortuately take a defensive stance to avoid any addmitance of guilt, do you have any evidence that their own specialist advised which part to get -if so that puts you in a very strong position. It sounds like they are taking you to court for non payment of bill for work carried out, which they did complete - what this means is whilst it is perfectly true the work was completed which would put you in the wrong. That doesnt mean you are completely left out because what you can do is start a court case of your own effectively sueing them for the cost based upon the reasons you have cited - I know someone who had to do this with a large firm of builders - who also masqueraded on the set of Rawhide

I just used my fingers on mine - there shouldnt be a huge resistance - make sure you have your car in gear and hand brake off though ;)

check the thermostat hasnt failed before you pull the whole engine apart - the standard wrx engine internals should be good for that BHP figure although I would uprate the oil pump and fit a decent sump baffle

Many people use the forums as a source of information, so someone who plys their trade specifically for Subarus would be a great asset - thats the trade off :) The way we are going a surgery could be on the cards - in one place over one weekend you could get a service, your performance mods sorted, paintwork / respray applied, graphics layered, ICE/ Alarm build followed by a detailing - you drive home in a pristine example :D
