  1. well hopefully tinkering with your scooby will provide something of distraction ;) failing that there is enough inane rambling on here to realise there are people who have a questionable state of mind and need occupying fulltime :D
  2. Would this fit - it doesnt specify non turbo but may be worth contacting them directly? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-LEGACY-CENTRE-REAR-EXHAUST-BOXES-2-5-98-03-EST-/130436736801
  3. It depends which Konis you go for - Im assuming Koni yellow sport struts it will feel a little firmer as the damping will be different, if they are adjustable you can have it on the lowest setting which would give the least damping for your normal road use. Your springs provide the push back against the force of bumps etc on the road but the struts provide the controlled resistance to that movement - in this case by oil flow through holes. The Koni holes are smaller so even though you still have the standard springs the resistance to those springs has increased. I have used them before and they were a great product but I hardly ever used the full setting as much as the feel was fantastic I felt I was killing the car as every bit of road repair had an accompanying clang and shook the car. If you are looking for the same softness as the OE struts - even wrx ones, you may be disappointed, if you don't mind it being a bit firmer you will be rewarded with increased feel and positive response in the drive. ;) final word of warning though... its a slippery slope, I started with the shocks then found the anti roll bars could do with being a little beefier and then found that was putting the strain on the strut mounts so had top and bottom front and rear braces - then found I didn't need to run any camber on the wheels as they stayed upright around corners but the tyres were strained so hankooks were changed for yoko's - great end result but the bank account took a bit of a beating :D
  4. if you do have the cash getting a custom made one from stainless steel will obviously benefit in the long term and you can specify as loud or quiet as you would like ;)
  5. blanking the hole shouldnt be an issue - match up the threads and use a cap or bolt dependant on the mount - have you taken any photos yet?
  6. plenty of options here http://www.carid.com/2001-subaru-legacy-wood-grain-dash-kits/ I don't know about the exhaust - Bip would probably be able to advise there
  7. too much finesse required for me - I would get someone in to do that job :)  wrt the exhaust tips my opinion is single exit oval twin exit round - however both do look good (porsches for example have twin oval exits)
  8. nothing to be embarrassed about - get in there, lecturers / teachers prefer mature students as they see them as wanting to learn so put the effort in and actually listen to what is being said. You are there for you so its in your interest to understand it ;) What field of engineering are you studying?
  9. Wotcha and welcome - as Miggs says + keep us posted if we can help / provide advice we shall do so :)
  10. ok thanks - I def think its a subaru propriety head unit made by pioneer - will do some digging about software / firmware updates
  11. loving those Khan reps!!
  12. It does sound like a software problem can you post a picture of the head unit itself with the initial menu screen displayed? edit - looking on the web it seems Subaru have got Pioneer to make them a unit - within the settings / info on the screen does it give any information about software version or hardware type?
  13. so that could be a real stealth approach -- install front mounted intercooler and have a scoop free bonnet - tee hee
  14. Wotcha and welcome Eric - fell free to browse :) we try to promote an inclusive atmosphere without being too stuffy
  15. How many miles have you done on them as you will need to give them a few miles to bed in as it will all be close tolerances as everything is back to full size - you don't need to remove the reservoir cap when pushing the pistons back in so don't let that worry you. the pistons in the calipers may be stiff, as the chap fitting the replacements pushed them back it means they are not seized but they may need a clean / service
  16. Ill bet your one of the few that genuinely wants to be there though :D
  17. Thats the one ;)
  18. here you go then
  19. I think the gun metal would work - as Gambit said the WRC blue works with gold black and white so it should work ok
  20. Not signs - would you like another clue?
  21. and clearly excessive leather and gimp masks will be our USP :D
  22. ok try this one
  23. Thats great to hear!!
  24. Must admit I dont know of any mobile valets in that area but have found that products available now mean you could do a great job of detailing yourself given the time - I think it was Miggs that posted about the subject. Check this site out for supplies http://www.thepolishingbooth.com/ We do know that a lot of people will view but not reply on forums as they have suffered ridicule and been berated on other parts of the web - as we are a relatively new forum by comparison it will take time for individuals to trust that this is not the case here - it also helps a great deal with people like yourself contributing as it all builds on the foundation we have, so thank you for that.
