  1. was it folded in when damaged... or would that have not made any difference?
  2. Researching for a couple of replacements came across this review of summer tyres, they are all quite close in the results with a Hancook offering taking 5th place of 9 http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2013-Auto-Review-Performance-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm a 225/50 R16 W (96) comes in at just over £103 per corner - liking the fact there is a 7mm kerb protector on them
  3. unfortunately no they are not - is your car fitted with fold in mirrors that move when you cut the ignition? would that help?
  4. looking forward to it!!
  5. I think that might be a little too much he unfortunately wrapped a standard car - I think this would be a little too much too soon - now if he bought it kept his honda and did some trackdays in it that could work
  6. Thats a lot of car for little money - hope its snapped up!!
  7. Wotcha and welcome - there are a few members close to you - plymouth way so should be opportunities to meet up in different locations not too far away
  8. Wotcha and welcome -- there is a thread on the forum with a list of breakers there may be some options that you have not tried yet
  9. Excellent - Wotcha and welcome... back ;) would be great to see some pictures
  10. Liking it - different!
  11. Look forward to seeing what you have got your hands on
  12. Wotcha and welcome Dave - looking good :)
  13. If it is a good price it might be worth you having it as potential option for the future ;)
  14. not necessarily - you could get 300 min from a TD04 it depends on what other pipework, injectors, ecu map & exhaust you have to go with it
  15. The turbos would still be operating at the same pressure the difference is in the amount of air that they can put into the chamber when the valves open. So even though the pressure is the same, due to the TD05 being larger it can move a greater volume at a higher speed, which gives you a bigger bang. You can get smaller turbos to run higher pressures by modifying the actuator or fitting bleed off valves, but this in itself wont necessarily give more performance What I would investigate - and will be doing for my own car is the standard size turbo but getting one with a roller bearing setup - this allows the turbo to spool up faster and gives increased component reliability. Also it depends on what type of TD04 you have as there are several variants for the subaru range (TD04 - 13G, TD04 - 19T, TD04 - 17G) and others that will fit but wont necessarily be any good for the car - for instance the TD04 on a forrester is different to the TD04 on an impreza. this link has a lot of info but.... it is comprehensive and illustrates the compressor maps - showing the optimum flow rate for size of turbo - this is the info that will help you ensure bolting on a different turbo will get gains http://www.stealth316.com/2-3s-compflowmaps.htm
  16. Result !! that's great news at the very least it has maybe stopped him having a go at shoppers who might not be as a robust character as yourself
  17. Wotcha and welcome - as Gbit says if the rest of the engine is standard stick with the TD04, you may even see an improvement in pick up as the smaller turbo wont take as long to spool up
  18. yup Dylan is a legend!
  19. I know this one but never watched it but if we are talking special suger lumps its all about these guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMpu8jH1LE8 thsi is the one where Ermintrude eats too many poppies... ;)
  20. I used Hankook years ago as I understood they were a budget brand for Yokohama, never had any problems with them nice and sticky - I did hear they made them not quite as good because they were out selling the Yoko's however just had a look and for around the same price (below £70 fitted and balanced) you could look at TOYO proxes CF1's or Yokohama C Drive 2's - I think it would depend on your driving style if you prefer lower noise and fuel economy to outright grip I use this site as its quite a good one for info and comparison then you can shop around further if you want to squeeze the price http://www.blackcircles.com
  21. no response at all will serve to annoy more particularly if the feedback does not change.
  22. I got these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400380971959?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D400380971959%26_rdc%3D1 from this shop - great service really quick despatch http://stores.ebay.co.uk/hidsdirect
  23. Wotcha and welcome it might be a symptom of blocked supply ie with your injectors if you have racked up a few miles they will probably need a clean or fuel filter has some gunk in it etc
