  1. Wotcha and welcome - congratulations on the forthcoming event!!
  2. Wotcha and welcome yup a video or recording of the sound could help a lot with the diagnosis
  3. rubbish video quality but made me giggle 600cc's of snarling death :D
  4. some big names in it - including the BMF himself Mr Jackson - will be on my watch list http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INmtQXUXez8
  5. due to the extra amount of air volume in the intake system there can be a delay / lag as the turbo is effectively pressurising a larger amount - this can be compensated for but is also a good example of how you should approach your engine mods vs requirement - it isnt necessarily a case of bolt stuff on and go. If low down torque is a requirement look at putting turbo on that will spool up quicker - you will loose at the top end but gain lower down
  6. Wotcha and welcome - yes please share some pictures if you have them :)
  7. The faulty stat is more likely as this will stop liquid flow completely leading to overheating - the FMIC isnt designed to restrict air flow but will do if the fins are damaged. Cars have stacked coolers for things like oil and air con as well as the rad, as long as the fins are ok the air flows through no problem
  8. ditto - ooooh Ive come over all Patrick Swayze
  9. Jay762

    I want one

    Brilliant, me to!!
  10. subaru stalking - love it :D
  11. Wow - signed up to this already, didn't think it would appeal to anyone else on the site - how wrong was I? :D
  12. I think you will enjoy a turbo version - before you commit too much on the sport take a test flight - ooops I mean drive :D
  13. Sounds like you are in a good position to find the right car for you - as Gambit said I also had to travel to get the right model for me
  14. It might be worth posting a few pictures??
  15. It would depend on your driving style - what do you enjoy and also if petrol consumption is something you take into consideration. before you make your final decision take a test drive in a couple of different models - wrx, sti etc and see if there is a huge difference in your enjoyment then make your choice ;)
  16. for power potential the turbo is the most cost effective way to go however for the sport look to get it breathing and running right - induction filter and performance exhaust, a good service, clean injectors and good spark from plugs. Then look at the handling - shed weight and upgrade the brakes possibly suspension and antiroll bars. That way you improve the power to weight ratio and have improved cornering
  17. that shouldn't affect things too much - you could use a little piece of trunking and set up a cold air feed to link into the airbox like this for example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RAMAIR-Cold-Air-Feed-Ducting-Intake-Hose-Pipe-For-Induction-Kits-60mm-x-500mm-/350711565838?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51a809ce0e
  18. Good point - they may fit but due to the differences in the cars they were made for you could end up with a ride that is still too stiff for you
  19. Yes but yours is far more accurate :P
  20. just noticed you may also need to relocate your alarm siren
  21. I think you have it on back to front, if you look in the red engine bay picture the engine side of the tubing is connected in the right angle recess with the fins facing forwards orientate it so the chamfered corner looks the same as below
