  1. That looks like a fair few hours have been put in - what BHP is it generating and how does it handle with the FWD?
  2. It can be the head gasket - it can also be warped heads. do you have clear oil or has it gone gooey (emulsification)?
  3. running on Vpower will return larger mpg as well as good response - worth the extra money
  4. If I get duff service I give them a chance to redeem themselves then if they dont come through I tend to spend the next 20+ years sharing the bad experience with anyone who asks for an opinion / reference - hence why I will never use Demon Tweeks or Judd Racing again But where I get good / great experience I will do as much as I can to promote / refer the business so it grows
  5. Some useful bits for someone there!!
  6. Dot 5.1 fluid will give better moisture absorption / operation parameters - using shell stuff myself at the moment although Shell Dot 4 ULTRA has a higher boiling point than 5.1
  7. Agree, those lights are the best looking and do improve the overall front end - must confess not a big bug fan myself though but they make a massive improvement
  8. Copper tends to be the standard approach, the ones you have may be copper underneath but for the cost of them and as you are servicing the calipers I would replace them, also flush through with new fluid if you dont know when that was last done as over time it does absorb moisture which degrades its operation
  9. ^^^^ fantastic and there was me thinking you liked old yamaha 600's!! :D
  10. Wotcha and welcome - here is a fellow member with a very nice example of what you can achieve with a Fozzy 2.5XT in a very understated fashion http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1842-newbie-saying-hello-and-pics/
  11. oooohhhh don't know that one - have to wait for one of the more informed members, sorry :(
  12. Wotcha and welcome!!
  13. Well feel free to keep us updated with photo's :)
  14. I agree, does sound like it is sticking not failing as if the diaphragm or seal had gone you would not be getting your boost pressure
  15. Mate - firstly Wotcha and welcome to the site. secondly - what a machine - it looks great defiantly sounds like you were dealing with someone like yourself - a real enthusiast. No problem with the length of the post, dont mind that at all - between myself and Gambit (he'll be along in a minute or so) we write x4's as much and make about a 10th as much sense as what you have ;) Only thing I would point out (having done it to a bike oil cooler recently) it might be worth spending some time, or replacing, your intercooler as I dont think the airflow through it will be too good at the with the fins the way they are at the moment.
  16. Dont know if you fixed this yet but... I found this - whilst you are having a root around you could just sort of swap it over ;) http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-GH/Subaru-Impreza-GH/Subaru-Impreza-GRB-Shark-Eye-Short-Shifter/p-44-1-1029/
  17. in this picture the IC (same as red engine bay) has x3 mounting points - the top left one is out of sight on the picture and may also require an additional bracket taken from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA-INTERCOOLER-TOP-MOUNT-1993-96-WRX-STI-UK-IMPORT-/121165427791?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c3605b44f
  18. What would be useful are some close ups of the two areas on your own car to see what is there or not - from your existing picture you can see you are missing the bracket outlined in red but you may not need that if you go for the IC type fitted in the red engine bay Looking at the photos again of the red engine bay against your own wrt the right side (non turbo) there may even be a smaller bracket which is out of sight but again mounts to the manifold highlighted by the blue ring in the photo above
  19. gifts all the family can share in / benefit from, those are the best ;)
  20. apologies for the bad additions, graphic design is not my strong point The pink and blue circles are mounting points that have been highlighted in the first picture with the red engine bay The green and red outlines are brackets which have the IC mounted to them, the red engine bayed car looks like it mounts the IC directly to the mounting point on the manifold and does not have the red outlined bracket The close ups show that it is a separate bracket and not mounted to the heat shield on the top of the turbo
  21. the anticipation must be building then - :) only 117 days to go
