  1. I always find other peoples write ups like this useful - Petes boost gauge tap off for instance - so I try and catalogue stuff as I do it. pulled a plug out today as well and found it was a denso iridium tough - which was nice :D
  2. as you are into researching before buying - a bit of background... ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Impreza
  3. keep us posted ;)
  4. These come off really easily remove the plugs from under the car. then gently pull working from one end, the unit is held by panel plugs mounting holes in car I did coat the pins with a layer of red grease prior to refitting due to there being rubber washers in-between the metal surface and the pin and to make it easier to remove next time
  5. before getting the hatch in the picture I drove a hawkeye wrx and a blobeye sti - both are great cars but I enjoyed the sti more in the short time I was in them purely because of the close ratio gearbox. You cant go wrong with either car but for driving enjoyment I would plump for the STI
  6. agree, square on wagons
  7. a turbo looky likey - very good ;)
  8. Wotcha and welcome Cris turbo - yes, lots of fun insurance varies so shop around but Adrain Flux will give members on here a discount tweekable - ooooh yes here is a recent example and it just so happens it is up for sale http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/2072-sad-sale-of-my-beloved-facelift-classic-impreza-wagon/
  9. sounds like a plan - Adrian Flux gives a discount to S.O.C. members
  10. These guys supply bone fide rally teams with tasty kit worth giving them a ring - UK based http://www.subaruwrcspares.com/1.html
  11. As I understand it the STI has a wider track, bigger wheel hubs, bearings and brakes to the wrx - there may also be thicker anti roll bars but I cant remember / find where I read that so cannot confirm at this point.
  12. Wotcha and welcome Luke ;)
  13. maybe one of our resident Fozzy owners can shed some light on it??
  14. With that fog light I would have said import - quick call to the dvla will give you the history
  15. I think you definitely have to be passionate about a specific model - mind you says me with a 20 year old bike but with modern brakes and engine internals...
  16. looking forward to watching this one evolve :)
  17. Thats great to hear - nice simple fix!
  18. Nice rims - good luck with the sale, I know a couple of members have talked about getting new rims but I dont know if they want to go as large
  19. Do you have any photos you could share - it may help the sale
  20. Pete jfyi you have hill start assist on your current car
  21. There is a hill start feature on some models which is part of the handbrake mechanism this stays on momentarily before you pull off when it then disengages
  22. wrt to fuel pump - it might also be supply failure, partially blocked inlet?
  23. Very funny - hefty chortles :oD
