Changing side light pains :(
My car's older, but I don't imagine the recipe has changed much. You have to remove the lights to remove the bumper- take out the centre plastic grille, then there's usually 2 bolts above the light and one in the middle (where you've just removed the grille) again, may be different on your car, but you should find them. Slide the light cluster out and you've got easy access to the bulb rears. Hope this helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Diesel Blow Off Valve?
Although it may be possible, it's not necessary. I can't remember the exact reasoning but it's something to do with diesels not having a throttle plate there's not actually any air getting trapped and forced back through the turbo. Ultimately they can just hinder the performance. Personally, I don't know much about diesel engines in general, but I assume the turbo system is pretty similar? Subaru tend to like to put recirculating valves on their cars and my GTB can't have a blow off valve put on it because it throws out the air flow readings and makes the car run like crap. All that being said, if you just want the sound, there's a guy locally who has a turbo diesel fiesta with a BOV on it so it must be possible- I don't imagine he did much more than just buy a standard one and put it in in the same way you would on a petrol. I've only been able to look at it sat feeling sorry for itself. However, the heads are finally going off to the machine shop today- turns out they've been sat at the garage waiting for somebody to take them. The parallel fuel rail set up idea on moving forward- I've decided I'm going to get a Nuke FPR but at £250 it'll have to wait a few more weeks. I'm also considering a swirl pot- not 100% necessary but it's a nice addition. I've been off work ill after a long weekend away, which has also given me (dangerously) time to also have a nose at a 6-speed conversion. I'm sort of hoping someone can talk me out of it? Please.

Engine problem on 5 year old Impreza
That would effectively be making it run lean. It's worth a mention Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Engine problem on 5 year old Impreza
I've heard a number of things about the boxer Diesel engines giving up- it's a shame really subaru and diesel should be nigh on indestructible! What was the exact issue with the fuel filter? If it was starving the engine of fuel slightly it could've been a contributing factor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Subaru Legacy sport 2004 model
Head gasket is less likely in the 2 litre. It was the 2.5s that were slightly more notorious for it, from my understanding anyway. (Although I'm sure people will tell me otherwise) Again, although unlikely due to non turbo and FSH, just have a listen out for any rattles/knocks from the engine, otherwise things could be getting expensive. Make sure it's not due up for a cambelt change, unless you're able to do it yourself. Ultimately for the equivalent of £600, you could end up with an absolutely brilliant car. Mileage on a subaru would never particularly worry me especially if it was used as a work horse- a car that does high mileage regularly- say you drive 20 miles to work and the same home again- the engine goes through it's cooling cycle properly, so it's less stressed. Whereas a car that's only got 30k on the clock may have only been used for a 4 mile round trip every day, so it will have spent most of its life running cold... I hope that makes sense If it's in good nick, I will go as far as saying it will be one of the best cars you've ever owned!

Both heads are now off, ready to be sent off to the machine shop tomorrow! Then I've got decisions to make about where to get the head gaskets from... I'm flirting more and more with RCM

Ooh, unlucky mate. If you fancy getting your hands dirty, you can always give refurbing your calipers yourself a shot? http://www.uklegacy.com/forums/index.php/topic/138910-refurbing-your-brake-caliper/#entry732170 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Newbie
Welcome! You can never be disappointed with a legacy.

bad start..
That's a bit of a pain isn't it? Could sourcing another engine and getting it swapped work out cheaper? Hope you get your money back!

Anyone for 9000 mile P1?
It's sort of sad really... I mean, that car has had under a year's worth of driving in it's entire life. The next person that buys it at that price is just going to store it away and only bring it out every now and then. The likelihood of anyone else ever seeing it in person is very slim- it may as well be sorn. It almost defeats the object of having it... Someone once said to me about doing things to keep the mileage of your car is a bit like not having s*x with your girlfriend to keep her good for the next bloke. I've sort of gone by that ever since.

Got home from work to find my stepdad had taken one of the heads off the old block. I was then shown the almost comical amount of movement in the old rod bearing, that made the piston lift a good 5mm out the top of the bore on no.3 cylinder. I was then given the list of tools I needed to replace (as the head studs were pretty stuck in there) in order to get the other side off. On the upside, by eye, they heads look pretty good. We've also got a flat bar we can do a preliminary check with, before I can get some more money together to get them off to be checked, skimmed, if necessary and cleaned. Thank god it's pay day tomorrow!

hi all, just joined, newbie, be gentle,
There's a gen 2 GT on the Facebook subaru buy and sell page. A little overpriced imo, but it's been up for a while so you might be able to knock the price down a bit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think I'd be too scared to drive it anywhere- I'm terrible for curbing my alloys, have seagulls all around here that seem to target my car and the local average driver age is about 94. It wouldn't stay that pristine for long

HELP! Just noticed to cables disconnected under the hood....
Could also be the water pump or a blocked rad or radiator cap. What model do you have? Is the radiator warm all over when it overheats? Does the overflow bottle fill up? Does it overheat when left idling?

That red is certainly eye catching isn't it? Although the silver GT saloon on there is very nice too. When do you think you'll give in and buy one?
