  1. Ive bought some redex advanced petrol treatment from halfords today and stuck it in the tank, now I know it's early doors, but after about ten minutes driving the car felt smoother and dare I say it, pulled a bit harder and cleaner, I don't know if this is just psychosomatic but it defo felt better, maybe it's just raised the octane a bit ?
  2. They can go weak due to heat so you could start by adjusting the waste gate arm to make it shorter to put more pressure on the gate (if yours is adjustable), one full turn at a time, testing boost after each turn, has this just happened or have you just got the car or has it got gradually worse over time
  3. Do they go wrong at this mileage or need cleaning etc or are they something that go on forever type of thing
  4. Afternoon all just wondering about the injectors in my hawkeye, they have done 105k now, are we supposed to get them checked or serviced at all ??
  5. Mine sounded like a jet engine scoobs 🙂
  6. hmmm, beetle conversion he says, wonder if it'll fit a t2 camper.....
  7. Afternoon matey 👍 As above, what's occuring ....
  8. There's really not at lot to be gained over the standard airbox if the cars standardish, with a short ram ( that's what I had on my blob wagon, messed the fuelling right up as didn't have map ) but for the short period of time I had it on there the turbo spooling noise was immense, totally addictive to the point that I was driving around on and off the throttle most of the time just to listen to it, I would defo recommend it purely for the noise tbh, mine was a cheap ebay crap one, maybe if I had bought a top end one it would have fuelled ok
  9. Get one on and get it mapped in, the noise is just addictive, seriously addictive 😜
  10. Somebody had repaired the one on my 53 blob wagon and had welded the ARB brackets to the subframe 🙄 So chucked an sti one and steering rack in at the same time, did it on jacks, was nightmare lol
  11. Good work 👌I will put my glasses on before I comment next time lol
  12. Just had another look at the pics, and it's not the C frame is it 😳
  13. No, not supporting the engine too, if it's the C frame it don't have anything to do with the engine or mounts
  14. I've not a clue sorry, but sure someone that knows will chip in soon mate
  15. Alreet geezar 😎
  16. Bonjour mademoiselle 👍
  17. As long as all the bolts come out (12 I think for some reason) it is a walk in the park, nothing nasty is bolted to it, just jack up car as you normally would (but not on the frame 🙄) and unbolt and remove
  18. Awreet moy luvley (say it with a Cornish farmers accent, sounds less creepy lol) welcome changed luvver to luvley as seems more apt 👍
  19. Just read through thread, proper interesting this one !! Did you ever find and fix what was the cause of the soup like oil ?
  20. Welcome aboard me hearty ...
  21. Hope it helps mate, maybe replace caps as a precaution and treble check the overflow "tank and piping" on rad just to be sure
  22. Burping a newage, jack car up as high as possible at the front ! get a juice bottle and cut the bottom off and fit the lid end into your top little water tank not the radiator, you now have a funnel type affair (could actually use a funnel I spose) sticking out of the little tank (make sure it's got a good seal in the tank, tape it if you have to, now fill engine through juice bottle so that you end up with 6-8 inches of fluid in the bottle higher than the tank, start car and run to thermostat open, then Rev car up down a lot hold revs at 2000 a half dozen times al the while going round the engine squeezing all the bigger water hoses to move bubbles (watch out for moving parts that remove fingers), this worked perfect for me after engine out and back in, make sure heaters on full also at all times make sure there always 6-8 inches of fluid in bottle so as bubbles come out fluid can replace, don't let water get low and draw air in
  23. Lols ive no idea sorry 😕
