What are peoples opinions on this?
Euro 5 engines were put in diesel cars from september 2009 to meet with e.u regulations on emissions however unsure if the same problems persist on this engine as havnt had any experience with the scoob diesel

the clinic?
Like whats been said theres always two sides to a story but surely this is a bit **** poor if true for a company to charge for bolts THEY broke not the customers fault they broke them, dont get me wrong i'm a mechanic in an hgv workshop and sometimes you break things but we would never charge for our fook ups we get a bollocking and work our time back for the lost labour cost after all thats quite a good incentive to do the job right first time round

orange skum in header tank
Hello and welcome as sandy has said it could just be something as simple as small bits of rust etc in the coolant making it turn that colour if its not been changed in a while my v1 classic was the same when i got it but draining the system and flushing it out a few times with clean water made everything better

New lad
Welcome to the club, £2500 should get you a decent classic wrx, i got mine just back in april for that price and its spot on needs a few things done as its a wee bit rough round the edges but thats how i wanted it, theres nothing like the feeling of getting the car how you want it by doing it yourself the shell and rear arches are rust free probs because of it being an import but it did take me a good 9months to a year to find it

Yeah thats where i'll be getting the gaskets from and they seem to have really good prices, i could of probs got them through my work cheaper but they'l be crappy aftermarket ones and if its as much fun as you say it'l be i only want to do it the once, although having access to a ramp/pit is a bit of a luxury, thanks for the bit of advice spot on bud 👍👍

2nd hand o2 sensor
Great thats really cheered me up haha, i should be able to it myself i can get it on the ramps or over a pit at work but thanks for the offer bud , ment to say its a v1 classic if that makes any difference

2nd hand o2 sensor
Got to be worth a shot mate at that price get 2 so you have a spare, on a seperate note i noticed you've got a thread up about fitting an up pipe and to cut a long storey short i've been doing wee bits and bobs to the scoob today and noticed i've got a small leak from the up pipe gasket at the turbo and i've been on import car parts and can get the gasket set with all the bolts/studs for 27 quid i'm just wondering if thats all i need to do the job or will i have to take other sections of the exhaust off and need other gaskets aswell
