  1. Thanks Mr B They were all OEM Japanese Koyo and nsk parts with a dayco belt the last time. It’s great to hear that there are also some alternatives for belts too 👍
  2. Hi everyone I am looking for some advice for my 2.0 sohc n/a legacy mk2. The last time I did the timing belt I also replaced idlers, tensioner, water pump and the front crank seal. Since then it’s done 40k miles. Is it just the belt or will it be wise to replace more? Also what brand is worth going for? Thanks for your help
  3. Just refurbishing my alloys for my gc8. So far the prep is going well.
  4. Wow that sounds like a really sound guy. It’s great to see it being done right too... even if the prep is a little scary
  5. Thanks mate I’ve ordered a new coil pack from ICP as it started to spark worse and it idled really rough.
  6. Hi everyone I was working on my 96 WRX at the weekend changing suspension (build thread will be coming) and as I was dropping the bonnet after I started the engine I noticed this: (picture attached) there seems to be slight arching. Does this mean that I need to replace the coil pack?? I appreciate your help in advance
  7. Great result! I’ve not tried Asperformance before. Are you going for a fast road setup? I spent some time scouring the threads for solving starting up issues. Great wealth of information that helped me to narrow down the issue to a faulty MAF connection.
  8. I have a Look Whiteline rear antiroll bar I no longer need. I will post some pictures later. I also have new tein lowering springs Both fit a gc8. I am open to offers but I was hoping to get £100 for each.
  9. I had to spend £150 for my version 3 o2 sensor being a WRX and not a turbo 2000 😬 Its only 2 years old however it’s helped it pass emissions both times.
  10. Nice work mate. I’m currently servicing my 96 WRX and found out that the pcv valve and breather pipes are a little knackered so I’ll be kept busy, at least I have a catch can to fit
  11. Great work, especially seeing the difference of cleaning up the rusty bolts. Some good suspension goodies
  12. What make are you thinking of getting?
  13. Love the car mate, they are brilliant. Is it a fresh import?
  14. I fitted some alloys I recently refurbished myself.
  15. It looks mint. Very nice 👍 mine is a version 3 wrx Is it your first classic?
  16. Tidgy makes a good point my 96 wrx idled bad due to a wire being chewed through on the maf sensor. my legacy needed the idle control valve cleaned. It’s a start at least
  17. Hi guys I was just interested to find out how long I should leave my pfr6B plugs in before I should consider changing them. I believe they are meant to last longer but I’m interested to see what you think. thanks in advance
  18. It looks great, worth the extra sanding 👍
  19. Awesome car, I had the same alloys on mine, it looks mint 👍
  20. Looks good. My version 3 wrx had the same treatment a couple of years ago and it’s great to see another classic saved from the dreaded rot.
  21. Larry makes a good point When I was looking for my first WRX I went for the 2.0 rather than the 2.5 mainly because of the scary stories of ringland failure, but the main thing to check is how well it’s been looked after with servicing and being run on 99ron fuel preferably (Tesco momentum or shell v-power) You should be able to get a really nice wrx for your budget.
  22. Cool looking car! I do really like the Levorg only I wish the name was better and I agree that it’s a shame an sti variant never came here
