  1. Get in touch with Jolly Green Monster http://www.jollygreenmonster.com/index.htm Or Andy Forrest http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/4436.html are prob the 2 best in the Scooby world. I know Simon as he goes to my local Scooby Club, give him a call at JGM and he will be happy to chat and give you all the options and budgets.
  2. Exterior. Stickers is about the cheapest I can think of. Apart from tinting lights as you already mentioned in the other thread. Painting the grills, foglight surrounds, wing mirrors, lower part of rear bumper and spoiler a different colour. Can't really do much to the engine due to remapping for any power mod. You could paint covers, fuse boxes, and other bits in the engine bay. Replace the small black vacum rubber hoses with coloured ones cheap and easy to do. Interior. Again paint trim pieces. Cheap car matts colour coded to trim. Painting stuff is cheap and if you take your time easy to do. Just make sure you prep everything properly 1st :)
  3. Yeah :) looks like you mised half the car park TBH. We were made to park round the back of the main Prodrive building and all the car parks were full off scoobs on that side of the site aswell.
  4. Some great pics not one of my car though :(
  5. Been mulling over a DA for awhile, now but as you say it's a minefield when it comes to DA pads and polishes. I think my next buy will be a 6mx3m pop up gazebo ala dent man tent so I can do work on the car when the weather is too hot or raining. £89.00 from argos. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6510745.htm
  6. My mates 08 Type UK had the same 17" wheels as Gary's weren't the 18" an option?
  7. Silver is prob the best at masking dirt, then looking amazing when it's clean as you never think it's that dirty :D
  8. Looks good. Out of interest what DA where you using? You'd think white would show the dirt worse than black :( I washed mine last weekend and it looks a state already :(
  9. Nice one Gary from Nottingham :) Glad your pleased with it. As other have said get the map check out by some one like Jolly Green Monster or Andy Forrest, two of the best in the scooby world. Then get yourself down to Jap Fest 2 on the club stand, felt a bit lonely being the only hatch. Essential reading: Explains all about the centre diff and the I-Drive http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/4392-i-drive-dccd-explained/ Any plans for mods? I've just gone cosmetic myself rather than power. No where near as far as Salsa King though :) Wheels are a must, those 17" weigh a ton and are too plain, you can liven up the steering with a set of lighter wheels. If you want to change the look of the car two things I would do is swap out the rear fog light for a clear version and maybe get the red overlays for the rear lights from Salsa King.
  10. Good write up. How much was the spoiler including any duty and taxes?
  11. Bear in mind 2.5's are in a high group 35-40's, did you not get quotes before you bought?
  12. Oz UltraLeggera on my classic
  13. 0 feed back so it's a new account, why not use the original one?
  14. Good find, need to add £200 to re spray the wheels though :)
  15. Best bet is to pop into a local dealers for the part number. I've never found any details/lists for part numbers on the net. Always get intouch with my local dealer.
  16. Rally blue in wales http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/subaru/impreza-wrx/subaru-impreza-wrx/2391900 Black but it's in Ireland again. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/subaru/impreza-wrx/2008-2-5-impreza-wrx-hatchback/2422655
  17. Gave the car a quick wash. Here's a pic of my cleaning supplies rather than another of the car :) 12 micro fibre cloths 1 glass cloth 3 waffle pads 2 for wax one for scratch remover. 2 applicator pads 2 Autoglym handy applicators 1 drying cloth, also have a real chammy leather. Autosol metal polish R202 Total auto wash (engine degreaser) 303 aerospace protectant (makes engine bay all shiny) Bilt Hamber auto-wheel cleaner Bilt Hamber autofoam Autoglym Shampoo conditioner, super resin polish, extra gloss protection, instant tyre dressing Intensive tar remover. Poorboys Black hole glaze Poorboys Natty's paste wax (use on my car) Mer Glass cleaner G3 scratch remover G3 SuperGloss Paste Wax (use on family cars) Meguiar's quick detailer and clay bar Halfords 240v car polisher Not in the pic is a mechanics stool with wheels on as I'm lazy and don't want to bend down all the time to reach the lower parts of the car :D luckily none of our cars have that horrible Matt black bumper or trim stuff on them so need trim gel :)
  18. Have you thought about insulting the Fmic pipe work? I've read that the longer pipes can suffer a 20 degree increase in temp from the front to the top of the pipe? http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/automotive/thermal-and-heat-shield-sleeving
  19. 80's Terry towlling sock green :D
  20. I'm sure classic STI's were black as I had an upgrade to an STI ic on my classic and that was black aswell.
  21. Yeah I went and checked mine and its silver, it seems modern STI's are Silver and WRX's have always been Black. My Classic WRX was Black as was the Sti version I upgraded too.
  22. Yeah engine bay temps were mentioned on another forum, as well as weather. Also wouldn't the black one get heat soak quicker as it would absorb heat quicker than a silver one? You could go into so many levels on this, would the type off primer make a difference? It's acting as an insulating layer. Thickness of paint, type of paint, alternative coatings? Ie anodised, powder coated. Maybe we need the real Mythbusters to invesitage?
  23. Why not give you a chance for a decent drive back and enjoy the car :) only 700 mile round trip fly out to Dublin get train to Longford cple of tanks to drive back :D just get an independent mechanic to check it out 1st. Piston heads is a good place for cars worth checking regularly.
