Took it out for a spin, still seems to do it around 5.5k revs... -

Not that much more? Like £15-20 extra I think, if even. -

Mitsubo Cat Back Exhaust, Newage *gauging interest*
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in Subaru Parts For Sale
To be honest, if she drove it, she'd probably love it. She use to have Megan Sport and she loved that...sure the STi is a bit louder, but it's quicker and handles just as well I'd imagine (never drove her Megan, she had that before I met her. Haven't really been pushing the sale of it if I'm honest. Waiting to get the refund and pick up that other onefirst before really going for it. Shame as well as I'd probably keep it if it was 3" all the way through 😕 -

Few photos of the new pump on. Forgot to take a load whilst doing, but the one with the huge filter is the stock one. Note to anyone doing this, make sure you don't forget to put the pressurised line all the way back on like I did! 😂 Heard a little pop and then spraying as soon as I switched the car back on! Fuel everywhere! Luckily I hand tightened the cover back over it haha -
Seminole81's 2006 Widetrack STi Build
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in Subaru Build Threads
Switched the alloys to the silver/dark grey STi alloys. Think it looks much better. Did the fuel pump install today as well. Went pretty well/easy, just takes some time (less than an hour probably as I haven't put the seats back in yet/had them out and ready to do this). Forgot to take loads and loads of pics, but I did it on a nearly empty tank (the light was on) and after went for a little drive and to put £20 in it so it's not sitting on empty haha. Used the stock wiring connection because it fit and looked the exact as the new one, but he new one didn't have the connection that went into the sender unit. I did encounter what felt like a juddering up in the upper rev ranges, particularly around 5500rpm, but I think it might of been a bit of air especially as I let it sit and went for a little drive once a little bit later (while it was still warmed up) and it seemed to disappear. Going to keep an eye on that part just in case, but I've kept all the stock parts just in case for now as well. Anyways here's some pictures 😊 -

Right out new Walbro fuel pump in today. Used the OLD connection that was already on the car as it fit fine and the new connection didn't have the opposite end on it (2 cables not connected to anything) and I didn't really want to mess too much with that. Everything went smoothly, until the test drive. Warmed the car up, fine, normal driving, fine. However, I started hitting boost and pulling through the revs, fuel pressure was fine and so was boost by all accounts, and in the upper revs it starts to jutter and it makes a fast intermittent sound coming out of the exhaust, almost like its being struggling...anyone got any ideas? I have a video (hard to tell with it but might help)...maybe the connection? 😕 Just don't see what difference that makes? EDIT: just took it out again quickly, wonder if it was just some air passing through with having it out? Seemed to be alright that time... -

Bump, changed plans again for those that don't know 😂 Buying a full 3" system now so the cat back is for sale 😂 -
But what exactly makes it worth it is what I'm asking. From what I'm seeing, OpenSource can do everything ECUTek can do...aside from the app, but I'm assuming that's not available for our cars from what I've seen...mind according to ECUTek website, map switching, launch control, boost control, custom parameters, and ECM Reset aren't available for 2004+ Subaru's...

Know what you mean. Yeah RomRaider is another one. I known EvoTune in Durham run ECUEdit and charge about £100 less than everywhere else it seems and they run on a proper dyno as well, mind that doesn't include a speed density test, which I'm assuming the others would? He reckons it's pointless putting ECUTek on because you can do everything that ECUTek can do with OpenSource. Says he can put them on, but AntiLag will just eat the stock turbo, and launch control will just destroy the stock clutch so it's kind of pointless at the moment he said. His name was Jamie. Anyone know if our cars can use the app to have multiple maps etc. easily changeable with ECUTek? The demo shows a GTR

Just going to use a few old rags...still worries me haha
-
Going to try this...did you use something on the jack to cushion it a bit? I tried to grab some foam from work but there wasn't any so I grabbed a few sticky pad things to put all over the plate...usually see people do it with wood...

I've been on the waiting list for a while at the Newcastle Subaru...they had one in for me, but then they gave it to someone else as I couldn't get the car in for nearly a month (bad timing, wrong shift, holiday, wrong shift)...your arms will be fine as you've got a STi which are alloy and not steel. I already checked into that with mine as well haha
-
Yeah well, that's what I'm hoping for at the least haha. The little adapter would be useful to have as well for when MOT time comes around and I can put the cats back on 😉😊
-
...aye probably because I don't know when I'll be able to tune...plus I'd be able to sell current exhaust to raise funds for tune 😬😂
-
This one? yeah I probably will wait to fit decat until I can map. The donut one? I dunno, I'll have a look...
-
3" midsection doesn't go into 2.5" cat though 😕😢 Nope, no tune on it that I'm aware of. Is there a way to check if it's got a license or software on it already?
-
That would be cool...flat shifting and launch will just eat through my (I think) stock clutch and anti lag will destroy the stock turbo. At least until I do upgrade haha. I just downloaded the one off the Tactrix website there, but I was looking at ECUEdit as well...like you said, support seems to be lacking though...
