Sound. Am picking up a Walbro this week. Just ordered some fog covers from the States. They aren't OE, but for $30 painted and come with stickers it's not a bad deal. Edit: pump ordered -
Hi. Just joined, some questions......

Haha, you'll really like it compared to a Honda. Loads more torque and they handle very well. You'll love it. I fell in love and wanted mine straight after test driving, but I had to convince my wife first haha! Definitely stick with a STi or Spec D or something with that for price range, few extra performance goodies 😉 You could get a Blob or Hawk for that price fairly easily. Enjoy the hunt! -
That's a good idea. I was thinking it should be covered up a bit and not be left open, just wasn't sure what to use. Saw someone do it with fiberglass, but that seemed messy and a pain haha. Think I'm going to do that. Will just make sure I drill a small hole for drainage. 👌🏻👍🏻 Car looks really good. Can't wait to see it fully finished!

What/how did you reseal it? I just did mine today and left it as is chopped lol

Looks like we had kinda similar days pulling out rear seats! Haha. How was the pump install? I'm picking one up this week, probably Walbro though. -
@Fastboy67 you were looking for one?

I saw that when looking haha. If I buy premium membership can I get discount right away?

Nope I'm not seeing a Sard either...unless it's been mounted someplace else, but I would have no idea where. Just double checked the advert and it definitely says Sard FPR, this is the photo from them, still don't see it. Is that the link piece in the link? Never heard of that before? Edit: scratch that, just read it 😂 Select 2.5" as that's what the flange is. So looks like it's what I'm on about 3" into 2.5" flange then back to 3" (except that's one piece obviously so it's 3" to 2.5" then goes to 2.5" to 3" on the rear cat back section). -

Cheap free little mod to hear the turbo and bypass valve a bit better. Just did a intake silencer delete. 😊 -

Looks like on a quick google search that cosworth ones you throw away like OEM ones. Might be time to upgrade. No I didn't think it looked like a Sard FPR either... in agreement with Fuel pump? That looks OEM to me haha. Any thoughts to that exhaust? -

So tore the car apart today. Ripped the back seats out, checked the fuel pump, guessing it hasn't been done by the looks of things! What do you guys reckon on this FPR? Was sold it as a Sard, but that doesn't look like a Sard to me? Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing? But I was under the impression that was where it should be? Also did the intake silencer delete! It really does open up the turbo noise and bypass valve. Much nicer and you can definitely hear a lot more sound from everything. Checked the filter whilst I was at it? Not sure what it is? Any ideas? Might just be stock...shame if it is. Lastly, checked out the exhaust underneath. Definitely stock from cat upwards, just have no idea on the size of it! Any ideas? My fat **** couldn't really get under it very well and I didn't want to risk going completely under with no one else around (only had a trolley jack). It looks to me like 3" down to 2.5" for the connections then back up to 3" and then swelling to maybe 3.5" or so throughout the catback? The backbox tip is a whopping 4.5"! If it's the 3" to 2.5" back to 3" what should I be looking for to buy long decat downpipe wise? -

Well, the Subaru has more power than a DC5 obviously. The both handle really well, and the STi is a actual performance car, more so than the Type R's. They're different in each respect, but the general characteristics are the same. They both handle well, etc. I was a bit like you and as a ex Honda person, I can honestly say that I love my hawkeye STi, and mines pretty much stock. I don't think they're as bullet proof as Honda's engine wise, but if you look after them then they should be alright. If you're worried about the engine, then definitely go for a 2L blob and not the 2.5 hawk which is known to have more issues. You've got a decent budget so you could get something like a blob STi and then set it up on some nice coilovers if it doesn't have them already and get a tune. JM Imports have a 55 plate JDM STi in white at the moment with a canny few mods done to it already, but it's a bit more expensive at £12k asking price (it's white and lovely looking, seen it first hand.) -
Used Fuel Pump?
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Fair enough, like I said, when I've read into it, it doesn't look like you actually NEED to do it. Mind those threads we're back from 2007 or so haha, but yeah. -
I'm sure Rays website had a thing that tells you firmer for our cars because I was looking at them not so long ago. Lush allloys. Lemme know with what you get and photos! I was tempted for 9", but i dunno if it's too far out for my liking.

Adgespeed in Manchester might have one?

Used Fuel Pump?
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Ok been doing a bit of research. Is a upgraded fuel pump really necessary on a stock turbo and injectors and then mapping it? I'm assuming that when I go to map, we'll lean the AF ratio out. I've got a Sard FPR on already and I'm peaking at around 5bar on that. Obviously if I went to a bigger turbo, then possibly the injectors would need swapped as well to feed more fuel, but the pump can only feed as much as the injectors can spray out, so would a faster feeding pump really be necessary with stock injectors and turbo that can't take all that fuel being pumped? Car is a hawk STi by the way for those that can't remember. -
Lmao just realized it autocorrected 😂

Aye that's what I was saying lol

Was looking at the Doo soon juice bar and spray on eBay. £13 shipped. Never done two bucket method and not entirely sure what it requires? Assume you use one for wash and then clean car and then rinse off in second bucket then go back to first bucket?
-
I'd say sun visor. I don't have one in the middle of mine...odd
-
Haha it depends. They charge by weight and size on large items like that. Think I had a quote from an airline for about £600 (so about £200 cheaper than container from house to house with a lorry with a lift gate) to bring it back with me when I was back and forth constantly. Not too bad, but it's getting it to and from the airports that's the hard part. Believe it or not, a lot of airlines sell off extra space in the hold for commercial cargo like that.
