my foz
Yeah mines loud on start up and cold idle but soon quietens down when warm. Still thinking of running at pod in July so I'll get somone to film it

my foz
Louder sound mate, have a cobra trackday friendly system 98db static so looking at maybe increasing the dB's [emoji51] Trouble is I've never heard my own car drive by so don't know what it sounds like, people still turn and expect an impreza when they hear it so I guess on the move it's ok. Park up next to nick & ash and I can't even hear it haha

my foz
Turns out it was the n/s rear that was knackered, must have been whining for ages but I put it down to all the new bushes haha. Still done and much quieter and with the new goodyears on it's lovely, may have to delete the 2nd resonator in the mid pipe [emoji51]

Forester 2010 D - Clunk
I know what you mean, They have a really small rear anti roll bar from the factory which promotes understeer, does it feel like it's going ok then won't turn anymore without throttle applications ? Different links help plus a full alignment may benefit too. Anyway I've documented most of the things I've done to her here if your interested in shiny bits lol http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9698-my-foz

blue bit in the pic is the droplink

Forester 2010 D - Clunk
When you say 'sloppy' what do you mean,Steering feel or vagueness or reluctance to turn ? I'd rule out the strut nocking as they generally last a longer than that. The droplinks hold the anti roll bar to the wishbone, not sure what type your 2010 model uses but the earlier ones use plastic links which wear and flex a bit and would cause an annoying dull clunk or knock

Forester 2010 D - Clunk
I'd check either anti roll bar bushes, or the droplinks themselves. Could even be a strut but I don't think yours would be showing signs of that at its age, what's the mileage?

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
He reckoned that it's just the way it was, I've been told the rollers at GR read a bit on the low side by someone else. Dunc said there was no way mine ever made 240 from the factory, which is pants as it's supposed to have more aggressive cams in. Everything was working well and what not according to dunc keep feeding the boost in but it wasn't making any difference. Heads make power and bottom end makes torque from what I'm led to believe so if I was to get the heads ported & polished maybe injectors cleaned or changed for 440's maybe I'd get a bit more hp but I'm happy

Well there's yer problem!
Good news on the flywheel As for the box I wouldn't worry too much mines 17 and it's only just beginning to snag into 3rd mainly due to me missing gears, How is your Reverse gear ? They are renowned for being rubbish so the metal could be from that.

Legacy 2.5i - 2008 - What to look for when buying?
Hello welcome, One of the legacy owners will be along to point you in the right directions as to what to look on them. There have been problems with the diesel engine. A Google search of subaru glow plugs should bring up loads of info

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Unless your me who seems to have lost bhp but gained loads of torque, can't quite work out how/where as everyone I've spoken to reckons like ghost the figures should be quite evenly matched

Why not hard wire it ? All you need is a live and in line fuse or easier an add a fuse piggy back adaptor

Thermostat question
Get a decent oat longlife coolant/antifreeze 50.50 mix if you buy concentrate and you'll be laughing, Since I've cjnaged I've noticed my expansion bottle isn't getting quite as full as before, maybe it's working more efficiently. As for the a/c maybe removed it as it's not working, or weight saving, the compressor should be sat to the right of the alternator
-
Thermostat question
Yep the temp gauge is a bit poor to be fair, As long as you let it come up to half way before giving it some you'll be ok, Mine takes 5mins of stationary idle before it's about halfway, the only reason I don't drive before that is mad piston slap which is embarrassing. Anyway it gets up to temp and doesn't move that much, but by the time it's gone to the red you'll have problems cooked the engine anyway. So you could either fit an aftermarket one if your that worried, or just keep an eye on all your fluids. It's a big old engine with the blower strapped onto it next to no 3 cylinder so it takes a good couple of hours to cool completely Have a look at the expansion bottle about an hour and a half later and it will still be at the hot full line

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Loz, did you have a look at your engine mounts ? Been told excessively worn mounts contribute to clutch judder when warmed up

Hello all. New to the subaru world
Rockers best of paying someone to do it as the hassle outweighs the cost, Remove airbox & washer bottle, plugs leads oil filler tube, release engine mounts jack up slightly, undo rocker cover clean replace gasket put all back together again . Fiddly as hell Whine from the rear is more likely to be a wheel bearing
