  1. I'd deffo say it was the slave then, do you loose a little fluid from around the cylinder another good indicator ? With regards to cost i've no idea on subarus to be honest, but obviously a rebuild kit will be the cheaper option. But will involve removing and stripping down the unit so if you cant be arsed just buy a new one and change it
  2. Sounds like it could be the slave cylinder, normally a rebuild changing the seals or a replacement unit
  3. http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/category/Forester/Utility___Towing,b.html This should give you an idea of what to look for, obviously its genuine parts and the prices reflect this.
  4. http://subaru-impreza-body-kits.co.uk/rear-underbody-diffusers-lip-spoilers_4.html Tried these people ?
  5. Cheers sav, Like you say easier if the inlet's off thats half the battle facing the wrong way round. You don't happen to know if you need to drain the coolant ? Is it primed all the time or does the chamber only fill when running ?
  6. No worries looks easy but 90% of the time they are the biggest and time consuming ones !
  7. Cheers for the cleaner mate, nice to meet you :-D
  8. What time you thinking of heading down bosh ? Finish at 5 but need to drop my daughter at my mums so won't be heading down to sheff till 7 so i'll meet eveyone at the retail park
  9. Has anyone pulled apart and cleaned the control valve from an ej20 g/k ? Chasing back my slightly annoying idle i think it may be this. Done basic maf test, car stalled straight away and cel upon restart, boost solinoid will be cleaned a bit later today, the reason i think its the valve is it only happens from cold and it's not a massive fluctuation in revs and again no cel light. Gonna order a new gasket today the attempt to clean over weekend
  10. Haha if you'd told me i'd have done a money shot for you. Bosh it's on the way back towards the motorway anyway so only 50p more in petrol :-)
  11. Thank you ! I'm just in the process of trying to get the vav lines off the bottom of it. Right mission not moved for 17years don't want to rip it.
  12. To be fair i like them. You need to be thinking outside the box when buying as people just assume subaru=impreza. Thats why i went for the foz. a little more practical and under the radar for 90% of people but still good in all weathers and fast :-D
  13. They have a couple at the local dealer had a good nosey round last time i was there, they do look good see a couple up near harrogate on my travels. That and a tribicea or what ever it's called.
  14. I've everything but, been hunting round in the man cave for ages best i've found is carb cleaner. Must have used the brake cleaner when changing the disks. Question, should i clean out the lines too ? I've a two port one on .
  15. Can you get a part number for the bulb ? I have a feeling that it's the same as this one. Used for the ignition ring light, bearing in this is a green bulb. Cost me 4 quid inc vat from dealer.
  16. Thankfully not i'd have expcted to see half the engine on the floor if it was haha :-D now showing a more sensible 0.8 on full boost
  17. Re attached rouge boost gauge wire now working again. Looking at xv wheels and wondering how much a set will cost :-(
  18. Can i use electrical contact cleaner to do this or will it not clear the sludge out ?
  19. It's on the list of things i'd like to do, (ever increasing) Seeing as you already have the bigger rims sorted your laughing !
  20. I think you'll rub on the rear struts.
  21. My brothers punto hg went (don't they all) He'd used steel seal to try an fix but it was too far past it.so i had head skimmed and rebuilt top end, but because so much !Removed! had made its way into the botom end he blew that up about a week later. So unless you tear the engine apart and clean all the oilways and give it a really good clean you can never be too sure. If something ends up in the hole that lubricates the bottom of the con rod bearing you've had it
  22. If the engine's out and if you have the funds i'd rebuild the bottom, they can also check for any damage that may have occured when the head went. Plus once you've don he lot if it's maintained right you could easily see another 100k on the engine
  23. Dropped misses in town picked her up 4hours later !Removed!. Drove to chippy and home before realising the boost gauge is showing 3.0bar constant. I think it may be duff :-( lol
