  1. Hello & welcome, I have no idea about a secondary cooler but it's possible, I'm sure one of the legacy owners will be along to offer some words of wisdom [emoji3]
  2. Don't worry mate, one was fine but the n/s upper looked like a twiglet too and the bolts have seen better days for the sake of 17 quid from subaru I thought I'd change them. That's why I bought the rear droplinks too on Tuesday I was impressed with the extra feel and feedback from the new fronts I thought I'd do the rears too. Front deffo feels more secure and planted, with a bit less flex. The rears although I only drove for ten mins make so much difference, now to find a new 20mm arb [emoji16]
  3. Hi mate it's all witchcraft to me but have a look at http://www.whiteline.com.au/mobile_home1.php Obviously more of the same as what you've been looking at but at least you can put you vehicle in and get a specific products
  4. Hello welcome, you looking at buying one that's already here or a fresh import ? Have a look at the buying guide as it covers the main points that are applicable to all subarus apart from that just make sure if it's been mapped there's the supporting paperwork
  5. Sky or mark Richards are worth giving a ring too
  6. Wasn't having any of it, sprayed some on last night and when I got to work, still all in an hour wasn't too bad I suppose. Ordered some repacement bolts for the front ones when I changed them last week they were pretty haggared
  7. Rear Drop links fitted one side in 15mins n/s battle that took at least half hour damn you seized bolts, not even half a can of plus gas would help. I reckon with it being so close to the exhaust it's welded itself together over time, brought out a 2ft breaker bar,a few choice swear words and job done
  8. Ooh ! How much you get David ? Tried to snow last night here for about ten mins then just !Removed! it down with horrible sleet for the rest of the night
  9. Why don't we use the sti as a track car nick ?[emoji16] win win for all of us (apart from you) You do know I'm only joking [emoji3]
  10. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201412019373110/sort/atcustom/postcode/ls27qz/radius/1501/make/SUBARU/model/forester/price-from/1000/price-to/3000/page/1/usedcars
  11. Have you thought about an impreza wagon ? Although not discreet matt's looks awesome. I'll have a poke around for you mate post up some links
  12. I got lucky and found one on auto trader from an mx5 specialist down in Southampton who did me a straight swap for my mk1 5 they'd imported it and done all servicing so it hadn't been ragged around. Some are nearly 20 now so finding good ones here may be a struggle. You can still pick them up on jap auction sites for 500-1000 but you'll pay close to 5k by the time you've shipped it and paid the duty, Have a look on UK forester.com someone was selling one the other week buy was highly nodded and neatly 5k again. What kind of budget are you looking at ? An 02-03 plate with prodrive pack would be cheaper tbh
  13. Yeah I did that on all the points that looked rubbish, they must have shaken themselves loose again. My iron's crap though so I may buy a new one before attacking it again. Bought the silver whiteline ones w23480 50 quid from scooby parts. Was impressed by the uprated fronts thought I'd do the rears too. On the hunt for a thicker bar now
  14. Hi mate welcome, As matt says most of the parts on the early sf models are interchangeable. Only real difference is in the shocks, stiffer spring rates and the exhaust backbox being a different shape to clear the diff. Not sure how much the sg and sh models share with the new age impreza but can't be too dissimilar. If you went for a UK s turbo you'd need to go for bigger turbo as the came with a tdo3 and the bits matt had suggested They came with around 177bph a slightly softer cam profile and different ecu. Jdm imports were around 240bhp stock so that may be a better base if your looking at 300bhp. Early cars can't be mapped without the introduction of an esl board into the ecu so that bumps the cost up a bit. My99 and on can be remapped as easily as any other subaru.
  15. I need to re do my clock worked for about 12 months after I last did it then gave up again. Rear droplinks turned up today they'll be going on tomorrow
  16. I had a full system made for mine by cobra. As it's slightly different to the impreza it wasn't off the peg, dropped it at 9 in the morning by half 12 they had made a twin resonated middle and backbox from scratch along with fitting the downpipe [emoji16]
  17. Up until last month I had somewhere it could have been stored for free and worked on in the dry and moderate warmth. Building work had !Removed! on that bonfire.
  18. I work for a storeage company [emoji16]
  19. I've got some bilt & hamber stuff I used on the mazda before, took all rust off and only had to wash off in morning, some zinc primer lying round somewhere too, just not really the weather to be starting. The rubber trim needs cleaning out properly too so while it's wet no point [emoji25]
  20. Found 2 tiny spots of rust in the n/s rear arch under the rubber protector trim [emoji35] not enough to warrant cutting it out yet.... So covered it in a bit of underseal so hopefully the waxoil in it will drive the moisture out until the weather is good enough to set about getting it and treating & sealing properly. Really !Removed! me off that my garage space is no more Also ordered some whiteline rear droplinks
  21. Hehe such a bad influence. Like Steve says it all depends, if we were to do it would it still be road legal or go the whole hog and track only ? If road legal we then have to think about insurance tax m.o.t If track only that means a tow vehicle and trailer will be needed. I think lots of thought and a plan will have to be drawn up before we go out and buy something, also if someone wants out at any time how does that work ? Would some forms of legal document need to be drawn up ? I'm deffo interested mate, just have to have a feasibility study.
  22. I like the look in pic below, understated but you know what it is and only the fmic gives away that fact that it's running more than stock.
  23. Not sure how much water actually gets into the engine bay through the scoop as there is an air dam in place to channel the air to the turbo and cooler. Could always fashion a drip tray to collect any wild drips. I know mine mail let's out so much heat I doubt the water has chance to get that far in before evaporating
  24. Hello have you checked the aircon ? Maybe a slight leak or a pipe getting condensation on it when it goes through a defrost cycle and dripping down ?
