  1. Lol rick was after them as he's suffering from saggy !Removed! syndrome on his foz, if you have a look in the suspenaion section, coil over pros and cons thread get a pic up for him :-D
  2. Haha funnily I watched it a few weeks ago ! Great minds think alike :-D good motors mate, ive just had to yhrow a load of cash at the suspension this month though, suppose thats what you get with an older model !
  3. I wouldn't worry too much then I'm paranoidad they come, been told they are a noisy engine anway and had a service 2months ago, they mentioned slap on cold start up and said not to worry. I've a youtube/google account so just uploaded it to that, not sure about how to do it on photobucket though.
  4. This is how bad mine sounds in the colder months, thats been idling till up to temp but nit driven, Normally sit in car and warm up unitl the temp gauge is in middle then drive. Slap lasts for maybe a couple hundred yards and gradually fades away
  5. Not sure its whatever my garage puts in at service time, I did an interim change 2.5k and used some fuchs 10/40 semi synth which seemed ok too. Speak to tim at opie oils for best recommendations (plus we get discount) I'm deciding weather to run fully synthetic next time. But a bit unsure. No worries mate I'm just learning as I go along too lol. The earlier engines are pretty soild so unless you start putting loads of power into her I'd just see how you go, does it sound like two metalic coconuts being bashed together when you start ? (Sorry only thing I can liken it to) if it gets worse then I'd look into replacing it
  6. Ah fair enough, I take it goes away when warm ? Just a bit of slap ? I don't even drive mine till it's properly warm as it makes me cringe haha. What oil are you using at the mo ? I find that different brands reduce the amount of nois from cold with millers being the best I've tried so far, As far as I'm aware from my internet digging and info people have passed on, the ver3/4 engines are prone to slap due to the nature of the piston skirt design, so a repacement engine of the same year may not cure it .
  7. One less thing ticked off the list ! It's actually getting shorter :-) Ordered some more engine dress up bits the other day too
  8. It would need a remap to run peoperly unless they can get you another forsetr one from the same year. Whats the reason for replacing yours ?
  9. Needed after suspension change :-D feels fantastic now. Found a chap in kirkstall did a top job and great price.
  10. Did they not bring warning lights into the mot as a fail if any illuminated ?
  11. Bumpage 2 more needed come on peeps we have got to at least make one show this year :-D
  12. Have a look at these, http://www.pedders.co.uk/info-subaru-impreza Or if you shop around you can get the bcs for 690.
  13. I'll move into for sale section for you. Should get more interest
  14. Hello, I hear my ears burning ! Can you take a picture of the offending handle ? Do you have a low ratio box lever in the centre console as well as the usual gubbins ? It does seem strange that it's offset surely that would cause injury in the event of an accident, mines an older model but I have at least 4" between the gear leaver left in reverse and the top of the handbrake. Have thought about replacing the seat ? Plenty of comfy 2nd hand impreza forester & legacy ones around that may enable you to sit an inch or so higher and not get stabbed in the leg
  15. Haha thats why your laggy then, :-D maybe get it on a dyno see whats happening and get it remapped ?
  16. Hi mate, depends you could have a bigger than stock turbo or some other mods that would cause it to lag, whats it like when it comes on boost ? Do you have any way of measuring what the boost pressure is doing ?
  17. Yes if the car is new to you and a step up fom what you've been driving it can go down, They see you as less of a liability as you have shown that you can drive the car without killing you or anyone else. Mine was 750 last year this year 560 :-D
  18. Boo never mind mate, plenty of options still open
  19. Looks like one of the closest places that has a dyno dynamix set up. Looks like my funds may be available just waitng on funds to be released so I'm gonna wait before I mail him. Plus I may have to throw a sickie to get there hahah
  20. Hopefully simon at jolly green, he's up in Sheffield next month and I'm working on a plan to release some funds, trouble with mine is it needs an esl board grafting onto the ecu as the 97-98 cars can't be remapped by flashing the ecu .grrrr
  21. Haha the new suspension parts came out of the remap fund :-(
