All the dealers now have electronic stamps, they're recorded at Subaru UK, no stamp in a book anymore. I keep the receipts and the service checklist/vehicle report and put that in my vehicle log.

regardless of whether they did a free service they should complete a checklist and a vehicle condition report. This should tell you how much wear on tyres brakes etc. The checklist will tell you what they did. Ask them for this and file away as a record. My dealer didn't give me anything and I went and requested it they did give it to me.

Jeez, that paint looks fecking beautiful. Is it still on the original coat?

Hi, mostly original paint, I've had the bonnet repainted due to stone chips, bought it of a old guy that only used it on weekends only.

I think it's a programme of change, none of our dealers have used stamps since early 2014. I just get the service checklist and save that

Well my wife's Aircon is finally being fixed. After arguing for 2 months that it wasn't just that it needed a regas. The dealers took it to a specialist Aircon company who extracted the remaining gas (all 50g of it, should be 500g) and carried out a pressure test by introducing a vacuum into the system. No leaks, so they regassed it with £250 worth of gas. All worked fine. Dealer completed the service and decided just to check the gas was ok, it'd lost 200g of gas in about a day and a half. Now I'm no expert but why would you do a negative pressure test on a positive pressure system to see if it leaks?

Anyway, they've finally found the leak and agreed that it's a warranty repair so I won't have to pay for the gas.

so be warned everyone, if your car was built 2013 onwards your Aircon regas is going to be £200-300 not £50-60 as used to be.

Wow that is some expensive gas @Dogconker. I will inform my rents as they have a new Mazda which hopefully shouldn't need it doing for a while as they barely use the Air Con lol.

I went to look at a Toyota Rav 4 last night, nice car and would suit my mountain biking and stuff but the thought of leaving my Subaru keeps putting me off. I get too much enjoyment out of it lol.

Don't not use your Aircon, worst thing you can do is not use it unless it's hot, will increase the risk of faults and leaks developing and therefore increase the rate at which you'll lose you gas. An Aircon guy told me it should be used all year around to keep it in good order.

Ok, so I've barely managed to keep quiet for a day, but it can't last.......

....today I've removed my personal plates from my outback as this will be landing on my drive in the next week or two...

It's a rare beast - a 54-plate 2.0 WRX Auto Tiptronic - Imported when new in 2004 with 35, yes thirty five kms on the clock - conversion done straight away so clock reading mph & odo reading miles - cert with car to confirm. 2 previous owners, loads of history and only 58k under her belt. Pretty standard and by the looks of things unabused and in very good condition; only mods look to be the cat back SS exhaust, K+N cone filter and STi spoiler. Cambelt being changed before collection (also done before at 30k), service done and 12 months MOT - the MOT history online is good (only ever been consumables).

Can hardly contain myself - over to the dark side

Told SWMBO it's loud @stants.....she grimaced but has already said she'll get over it - I said she should have come to see it haha - bless her, she's a gem really

Possibly one of the loudest exhausts you could have on there !

Glad it all went to plan would have been a pain to drive all that way,
