Like the grill matt [emoji106] Been thinking about painting the surround of my grill black for a more aggressive look . Are you going to go for mega wide wheels ( like worbs) or spacers to fill the abws ?

the only mesh ones I know of that you can buy of the shelf attach to the slats (zun or zero sports I think) so you'll have to buy a sheet and cut the mesh yourself , neatest way to fix it would probably be to make some "L" shape brackets that sit behind the mesh and fix the mesh to them -
Boost solenoid help
savage bulldogs replied to Nevell's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
As far as im aware 3 ports help hold boost better at the top end of the rev range and give the mapper better control over the boost in general . They definitely need to be mapped in so best fitted on the day of the remap , my mapper fitted mine in 5 mins (didn't even charge me for fitting or the vac hose he supplied) They don't seem to fail (very often) is it definitely boost creep and not overboosting due to having a decat or cone filter ? Have you checked your vac lines and "T" pieces ? Mabye get a second hand one to see if it cures it and then buy a new 3 port before you map [emoji6] -
If you've got mods I'd say flux is a good option , cos my uk turbo is probably only worth £1200 book price :-( I Had a good 20 mins on the phone with them to go through my mods list and she's now insured for £5k + with like for like on all the parts If anything the premium went down as I suppose they now know how much time and money I've put into the car (so won't be driving like a **** )

No problem fella [emoji106] Easiest way to identify the early set up is that the V1& v2 have a top entry turbo (air intake runs over the inlet manifold) whereas all later subarus (96 onwards roughly) have front entry turbos (air intake pipe passes under the inlet manifold) which means they need a different shape p.s pump to allow room for the intake pipe [emoji6] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Couldn't tell you if the slats are the same size , but you do have to cut them out with a dremmel . So you could trim them down if their to big , fit the facelift bumper (as it will fit ) or fit some mesh Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
The "V" stands for version which is how you know what parts fit . As the years for the versions differ slightly between uk and jdm cars . Here's a link that shows the differences between versions http://www.carldavey.co.uk/article.php?id=4 The expansion bottle on the right has a min / max level on it and that's the guide for how much coolant you've got , instead of the header tank bolted to the inlet Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
savage bulldogs replied to stants's topic in General Subaru Chat
I occasionally pull a bit off and tell the wife it's broke [emoji6] As all maintenance needs replacing with the money from the joint account instead of the scooby modding fund [emoji12] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
Got my vac kit from "boost junkie's" on egay Seem fairly good quality and come as a kit with new t pieces and cable ties [emoji6] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Thought I'd clean the underside of the scoob with the new k4 karcher [emoji41] Was quite impressed with it right up to the point it blew the paint off the bubble on my rear arch [emoji35] Decided to clean the inner rear arch lip and spray some wd in it ..... Only to pull the rear bumper mounting point off in my hand [emoji33][emoji15][emoji19] Guess it's a re shell next for me then [emoji4] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
I left my ps pump attached to the car when I fitted my engine , so I can't advise you on any difficulties I'm afraid . as far as I'm aware , the only thing that's a pig to bleed on a scoob is the coolant . If you go for the second hand option bear in mind v1 and v2 have a different shape ps pump to the rest of the classics [emoji6] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Silver scoobs show me your wheels
savage bulldogs replied to JusNoGood's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
I'd have chose lighter wheels for mine (if I'd had a choice) as dark tend to get a bit "lost " in the dark arches imo . I Surpose it depends on how much you want the wheels to stand out and personal preference. At the end of the day if you like em it's the right choice [emoji6] I'm sure you'll get a few more pics of silver scoobs with un stock wheels, cos there's a few on here Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
Hi and welcome to soc 4pots , braided lines and mabye a brake stopper (stops the bulk head flexing) As for the leak quite a common fault unfortunately . Early classic's suffer the most . Cheapest option is a good second hand one . Best option I know of is a newage reservoir with a relocation kit Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Unsure of the exact colour tbo I don't even know what type of rotas they are [emoji15][emoji5] Their probably more of a graphite (dark grey metalic) Slightly better pic of the wheels but still doesn't show the colour to well Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -

Turbo upgrade
savage bulldogs replied to Loopeloose's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Sti "pinks" 550cc injectors would be the next size up Tdo6 20g would be more suited to a engine bigger than a 2ltr as it probably wouldn't come on boost till 5.5 k Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
That upipe Is doing the trick[emoji41] nice early spool on the rr graph , so it would be sooner on the road . What was it running before ? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

I have thought about lagging all the pipework in the bay (done some of my brvs pipework), but didn't want to contend with exhaust heat wrap (itch'iest stuff known to man ) every time I Popped the bonnet [emoji5] So thanks for the link as I hadn't seen the sleeving before [emoji106] won't be doing much to the car for a bit [emoji19] as I'm at a bit of a crossroads as what to spend my little spare time and money on. Remap (again lol)? Buying the v1 full apexi ecu set up and tidying up the shell before fitting my mechanicals ? making and painting a v1 reverse inlet manifold and alternator relocation kit ? Or wait a while untill I can afford a bigger turbo and a re map? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -

Like most people that fit a bell mouth de cat, I had removed the turbo hotside heatshield . the fmic pipework passes over the turbo exhaust housing and although inlet temps are good after the fmic core the turbo outlet pipe was getting very hot . So I've since fitted a cheap (£45) turbo blanket Although the pipework's still warm it's now much cooler [emoji4] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
