I'm toying with this to be fair :) My only worry is I have a busy year, I'd really like to do that Europe run with Tlag and Adam too but until I've done this course or know if it's going to clash with it I can't :( But would say I might be here for this one :)

2006 hawkeye, overheating problems.
Bit gutted to hear but I did think that was the problem to be fair :( Was hoping it wasn't the rusty/brownish looking coolant was the give away for me. But happy to see you getting it repaired and treating her to some new bits so all being well many years after this of small costley driving :D

Morning, very new to Subaru's thinking about making a purchase...
Hi welcome to S.O.C If you wanting a bigger car Legacies are pretty good especially if you get the twin Turbos :D I do love my Imprezas too though. Massive fun to drive in the snow they have their problems but not driven many cars that don't. So was you just wanting one or was there any specific need with boot space kids ?

Grinding/Bearing Noise - Impreza Sport
Only time I've seen people or had grinding myself was the metal shield was hanging a bit over and would grind when turning. Or the best one I had a mechanic forgot to do up the bottom bolt of my caliper so that made a lovely noise when I turned :o. I would check everything is tight 1st and check the metal shield isn't catching.

What the jeff have I started?!!
Hi mate welcome back glad to hear you kept the Scoob :) as for the calipers mate I had a problem with mine and got another set like you I was going to refurbish them too but decided I didn't have the time to do it not even at a slow pace :( But I'm sure you have to get them out with a grease gun or something that gives loads of pressure I came across this pretty good vid, I know it's not subaru calipers but basic idea :D

Just bought - 2007(57) Hawk Eye WRX 49k
Hello mate welcome to S.O.C http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1619-help-check-guide-buying-1st-subaru/ bit of reading here about the cambelt, look at it as a sell by date though. It doesn't mean it will self destruct but need to be changed / eaten sooner than later :) Nur spec exhaust my favourite but lots on the market depending on cost I guess but never forget about the 2nd hand market :D Power few place you can start dropping weight is always a cost effective way to get small gains, but if like me not always that easy to make the kids walk, so more in a good filter or induction kit non oiled one otherwise kill your MAF. and decat exhaust ( head back to your last question :D ) Just remember MOT garages done like Decats so make sure you are friends with a garage or can replace one for the mot ;) Then fuel pumps injectors turbo. I guess be easier to ask how far did you want to go with it :D

Whats your audio set up in your Suburu
Blobeye I cut into the plastic parcel shelf type thing from inside the boot you can see 2 holes I used that as my guide. With the Bugeye I've gone a whole other way round with this and have been looking at a amp with a subwoofer built in :)

2006 hawkeye, overheating problems.
Not sure how much the self sniff test kits are but might be worth doing that or if you have a garage you trust to check it shouldn't cost much. I'd have it tested before spending money on a new rad just in case, with you saying rusty colour. You might be right rad might be bad on the inside doing it and blocking it up with crap then resulting in it to overheat but I'd have a guess the oils breached into the coolant. As I said never used one I'd say a garage who can test it would be better but cheap enough. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=head+gasket+tester&_frs=1 Not sure if Halfrauds sell them or not crap site with an equally !Removed! search bar make it hard to find anything :(

Engine compatability
I'm sure it will not too sure on the non turbos but most of the time its more to do with the engine fitting the gearbox. But like the bug and the blob with turbos their the same engine.
