Has anyone fitted an oil catch can?
You're welcome mate. It is I can't find anything I will keep looking but it's pages among pages of just nothing. :( Just going to add some bit's might help others or yourself in the future if anyone is going to do it :) How should a catch can be installed? There are a variety of ways to install a catch can. There's one right way, two sort-of right ways, and some would argue that at least one common installation method which is wrong. Sort of right ways: 1) Disconnect the hose which runs between the PCV valve and the turbo inlet pipe. Run a line from the PCV to the catch can, and another line from the catch can to the turbo inlet hose. 2) Disconnect the hose running between the crank case breather lines and the turbo inlet pipe. Run new hose between the breather line and the catch can and another hose between the can and the inlet pipe. Right way: Use two catch cans. Configure one as discussed in option one and the other as described in option 2. For optimal effectiveness, this is the way to go. Wrong way: Disconnect the PCV<->Inlet line as well as the Crank Vent<->Inlet line. "T" the PCV and Crank vent lines together, and run the remaining end of the "T" to a single nipple on the inlet pipe. Cap the remaining nipple on the inlet. You'll be sending boost into places that definitely shouldn't ever see any. Bad idea. Valve cover vent lines? There's more than one? Yes, but they're T'd into that black tube which runs in front of your intercooler. The third part of the T is a hose running to your inlet pipe. Can't I just vent these lines to atmosphere? You could indeed, but there are several reasons why you shouldn't. 1) You'll lose the benefit of having the inlet's vacuum help suck filthy air out of your crank case (thanks to Wylde Horses for this one) 2) It's bad for the environment 3) It'll make a mess of your engine compartment. 4) It'd let metered air out of the system

Hi everyone!! new 330s problems already!!!
Yeah sounds like they will do a sniff test a smoke test for air leaks and get it on the ECU to test it. Was about £85 for me to get that done on a car awhile back. but that was a one off payment £85 I didn't have any extra or hourly rate :(

Hi everyone!! new 330s problems already!!!
Wow most places I know will check a car over for free unless you're having the sniff test done and the ECU read. Mind you I can even have the ECU done for free to be read. :( But either way best I think just for peace of mind and to try get to the bottom of the problem. Hope it's not to bad for you mate

Hi everyone!! new 330s problems already!!!
Haha I don't know many people that don't call it scabby.net now. Don't get me wrong it's nothing against the site or the Admins and Staff why I call it that. I've spoke to the Admins and found them very pleasant and helpful, I've been a member on it for years must be about 8 years ago when I 1st started to use maybe more, and am a full paid member but I think how some members speak to others on there is shocking and has given the site a pretty bad rep. I've spoken to a lot of Subaru owners that won't use the site now. Two are in their mid 50's :( just for that reason.

car tick over like little shakey
Only thing I can think was the pipe was some how starving it of air and I can't see why it would need to be mapped.

Not sure if any of this will help. I see what you mean it's a bit of a mine field :(

Has anyone fitted an oil catch can?
I've never fitted one but they do look like a pain in the rear hole. I've read they are set up the same way the Imprezas. I'm just looking for more info if it helps.

Hey From Southampton 330s
Hi mate welcome to S.O.C have a few members with them like Salsa King has a really nice looking one not that I will tell him that ;) So they might be able to advise better than me with owning one. But I would say 1st thing I would look at is to see if it's had Ringland failure or had it fixed. if it's been done I wouldn't worry too much but if it's not I would make sure you check the service of the car that it's been done when it should have been. I don't mean that to put you off many people have them and don't have problems but it's what I would look at if I had the money to buy one :)
