  1. The key thing about oil is the second number, this is the minimum viscosity at 100 deg C, the 1st number is its maximum viscosity when cold, this helps cold starting. So 0 is for cold starting, 30 is minimum viscosity for hot running. From what I know the 0 or 5 isn't a big deal but putting 0/20 in for example would mean your oil would get too runny and that could cause problems for the turbo. Using 0 or 5 should be fine as long as you let your engine warm up before giving it some beans which I'm sure you do anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Don't know, but you have to assume that the service at a main dealer will use a suitable oil, otherwise Subaru would have something to say. If you're in any doubt then go with what the book says. I just bought half a litre of what the dealership have been using. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Well mine is on its last business run of the year tomorrow off to sunny Hull, can't help thinking though it's not going to be sunny, but at least it is my last work outing for the year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Right I've just checked, now I get mine serviced by a Subaru Main Dealer and they're using Petronas Syntium 5/30.
  5. I also have s 2.0D XV and To be honest I just bough half a litre that I keep in the boot from the dealer. Not sure what it is, I'd have to check. But if you get it from whoever does your servicing and use that then if there is a problem you can at least go back to the servicer and question their use of that oil.
  6. Anyone else seen these on Amazon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. They sell 40,000 Qashqai a year. If you want to know how common they are just "baaaa" every time you see one! Seriously though almost every other car seems to be a Qashqai. I understand they're probably a perfectly decent car but why would you want something literally every other person has? And they're expensive, the equivalent Quashqai works out 3k more than the standard XV. I'm a firm believer that if you want a 4x4 then get a 4x4 not something that looks like a 4x4. Gambit knows very well my views on Qashqais and pukes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Qashqai ugly crap driven by sheep, I'll have one of those because everyone else has one! Yes I hate them, but only slightly less than I hate Nissan Pukes! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Just hammered down all day here [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Mine's spotless now [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. They've put out from them, lead you seems to be from Toyota. That girl had gone now too. Turns out that even though my car went in to have the seat foam replaced in October, they didn't put a new foam in at all, just plumped it up a bit and gave it back. The new lot seem a lot more clues up. I think that Wayne has gone too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I do wish my iPhone would stop replacing the word "got" with the word "git" when it feels like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Do you use Pinkstones in Stoke then? They have changed the service team completely, including that stupid girl on the front desk who just wouldn't listen to. All the mechanics went too, because they didn't do anything. I wouldn't have stayed with them except that they have completely revamped everything so I thought they're much more likely to be ok now. There's a whole saga behind the problems but they just sat around doing nothing pretending they were doing loads, they didn't even take my wheels off during a service which is how they git rumbled be used only I knew where the locking wheel nut key was. 14. Mines in the dealers today to be reserviced after they didn't do half the stuff last time and ended up sacking the entire service team. Also it's having a new seat frame and inners finally. Again because of the service team that were there at the time. Hopefully it'll all get sorted this time. Git a 2015 XV for the day now. Apart from the stereo being a Dab system and a few tweaks to the dash display it's not hugely different to mine. They had a couple of Orange ones in for servicing and they looked awful. 15. Better get that bucket and sponge out, or if your like me 2 buckets and a lambs wool mitt [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Mine just looked crappy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Give mine a well needed jet wash followed by a proper soapy 2 bucket wash. Clay clothed and waxed the wife's car too but was getting too damp and dark to do mine do will give it full spruce over Christmas. After all the track driving I've been doing it certainly needed it, it actually looks white now rather than beige and brown. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Tesco want £750 for a diesel XV, with a £250 excess. Ouch! I only have a diesel XV. Looks like I'm just staying with my old company. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Well, Adrian Flux ended up comparable in price with my current insurers but it came with a £300 excess, currently mine is only £60. Back on the search for cheap insurance [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks, I'll give them a call later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thought I'd try Adrian Flux again after setting up a call back for my wife and getting an automated message and then getting hung up on. So I had one set up for today, guess what they did the same to me answered the call got an automated message then they hung up. Not sure I can be bothered to keep trying.
  22. I got passed by 3 unmarked police cars today with all the lights going on the M4. A BMW 5 series, a BMW X5 and a Subaru Legacy Estate in black. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Not mark in it to be honest apart from a couple of stone chips but I do a lot of motorway so it's nothing that can't be expected, having the stone chip guard has helped prevent stone chips. Wife's car is much the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That is white! But it's pearl so looks silver sometimes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. It's not bad, I like the XV. Just for info this is mine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
