  1. it's already finished
  2. the clinic is a good choice the cheap option isn't always the best way. it might cost you £500 for it 'repaired' and fail again in 6 months, or just pay, say £800 and have it sorted properly. a bloke was advertising on ebay offering gear box rebuilds for £400. guess how much abuse he got from people that know you can't do a rebuilt for £400 a 'specialist' local to me does cheap work on cars, but most of them end up in scoobyclinic 3 months later being sorted properly. who needs to buy proper gaskets when you can buy silicone from poundland........
  3. there are mixed opinions about BOV's, some like them, some don't my blob had a forge fitted when I bought it and I thought it was fine. then I fitted a std recirc valve and the gear changes felt smoother/better HKS (genuine ones) and forge are amongst the best ones
  4. hi mate welcome to the club nice car you've got, I can't believe how many other black blobs are on here now
  5. hi mate welcome to the club the belt can be swapped with engine still in place what mods are you thinking of doing?
  6. it could be the clutch, have you got any receipts for a replacement? if you needed a new one, would you want the best place or the cheapest? it won't be the same place lol
  7. hi mate welcome to the club a wagon sti, they are a very rare beast, only ever seen a couple. got any pics?
  8. nice one, it always feels good when it goes straight through :)
  9. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3045275/Rik-Mayall-s-family-face-huge-tax-bill-failed-make-deal-1-2million-estate.html :(
  10. just read your latest reply and had to reread the thread. I had misread who was wanting the lambda replaced (the wife is always nagging me/talking to me when I'm on here. I end up reading things about 5 times or missing bits) with the lambda replaced and a print out, the exhaust guy hasn't got a leg to stand on. the cat should pass easily for 5 years, it needs replacing. glad you could get it tested before you go and don't stand for any excuses
  11. all cars are welcome there are usually a couple of focus RS's, evo's, and the odd volvo, BMW, etc at sheffield subaru service we are like a big group of mates. I've been going for 7 years now and there are some of the lads that have been going longer than me
  12. the wrx ones are different to the sti inverted ones, they can be re greased, but not the same as the sti ones. my wrx ones started clunking and I replaced them with kyb ultra, think they were £240 for the pair glad you got them sorted. how did it go with the MOT?
  13. I know what you mean about the bigger AMG models, a mate has got an E63 AMG, over 600bhp. he was taking the **** out of my 330bhp, I said '0-60 in the dry would be very similar, in the wet I would be pulling away from you, but from 60mph up I wouldn't stand a chance' I'd like to have a go in an A45 a couple of years ago a mate got a new golf R, he modded that and easily got over 400bhp. never had a go in that either :(
  14. Hi mate welcome to the club
  15. you should get a tidy blob for 5k, I can't believe how much the prices have gone up recently
  16. Barts, it's only 5 mins from the M1 J34. always a good turn out and worth the run out
  17. glad you enjoyed it Chris :) I've not had a race with an A45 AMG yet, I've heard they are quick though. wouldn't fancy trying against a modded one I've had a race with a C63 AMG, about 450bhp, I had the wife and kids in my car and I kept up with him, I wasn't catching him and he wasn't pulling away. we caught up to traffic and I classed it as a victory, he carried on driving stupid trying to get away to 'win', he nearly hit 2 cars head on and that just showed what a prick he was
  18. well done, you can't really compete against a ford with all the followers
  19. not sure if he will post, it might be best if you say what parts you are wanting I bought the winglets and front splitter earlier, I changed my mind about the lights
  20. That's not too far from me, I'm in Mexborough. I met up with ChrisD this morning and went out for a drive, then I went to see aucky in wombwell to pick some bits up this afternoon too
  21. Well done [emoji106]
