  1. Is this it? https://iapunitedkingdom.com/sku/38942PM3000/23/?adtype={adtype}&gclid=Cj0KEQjw57W9BRDM9_a-2vWJ68EBEiQAwPNFK5TQEssRZMyJV06NvIWfmthenWFEcol3OO6hqW0jDK8aAh5O8P8HAQ
  2. Does it get louder the faster you go? Are you able to jack the car up and check the wheels for any play? Does sound like a possible wheel bearing going bad...
  3. Welcome to the club! Yeh the gearbox dipstick is not very obvious... it's at the back of the engine bay, bit lower down...
  4. I'm doing mine in stages... i expect in a few years time when i get good sized garage added onto my house, I'll have the engine out completely!
  5. My wife was getting annoyed at me when I was still working on my car at 8PM... I got a "Well I'm just going to have my dinner now"
  6. Yeh to be fair, after I spent a weekend under my car doing my up-pipe... I was broken for days afterwards!
  7. Welcome to the club! Loving all the new Scottish members! Have you tried revving the engine while you have the bonnet up and see if you can hear it? Is it related to road speed or engine speed?
  8. Welcome to the club! Certainly does sound like a knackered MAF... have you installed a different type of air filter? One of the oiled types? These have the potential to break the MAF... Parts should be similar if not the exact same as far as i'm aware. Think this is the MAF for your car: http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=47_422&products_id=1351
  9. I only said a "bit" older! I very seldom drink, so if it makes you feel any better... if I were to get drunk, I'm sure I would suffer just as much!
  10. Don't worry Stants... when i get a bit older and more sensible, I'll move onto a Forester :D
  11. Think this guy had a bad day....
  12. Not really sure what they are like in general, but when you take it for a test drive... take your time engaging the gears (especially 2nd and 3rd) and see how they feel. If it feels quite notchy and lumpy, could be a sign it has been abused. If it feels OK and you decide to buy it... maybe get them to change the gearbox oil as part of the deal!
  13. Just found out last night that my wife is paying for my remap for my 30th birthday... happy days!
  14. Welcome to the club! I would say a new clutch at 40k is rather low miles. Wouldn't necessarily assume it has been thrashed, previous owner may have just one of those people that ride the clutch on hills or at traffic lights etc... How did the gearbox feel?
  15. Welcome to the club!
  16. Always remember to change your cabin filter... this was my wife's filter... pretty boak
  17. HNNNNNNG This weekend would normally be my weekend off but doing OT unfortunately... :/ Thanks for the offer tho mate!
  18. Oh and don't get aftermarket studs either... instead of seating down they generally go straight through the holes making it impossible to tighten down.
  19. No worries mate... I used plus gas which was amazing at helping crack nuts, you will soon hate your turbo heat shield as it is a PITA!
  20. Nah doesn't make a difference... it's all near enough the same. The up-pipe i got from Savage was from a classic, fits my newage no problem. You'll need a new gasket for the header end of your up-pipe as well. I got all mine from Import car parts for a very reasonable price. Get genuine gaskets... aftermarket gaskets won't last and believe me, this isn't a job you will want to repeat!

    sad time

Very nice! Does look very subtle... :D
  22. Oh you're gonna have a fun time with this! To remove the upipe, you need to take the downpipe off and the headers off. So may be a good idea to get header gaskets and both gaskets for the downpipe! If you need a hand with it, I can help if need be!

    sad time

Hahaha! You've gone full circle! Welcome back! A cheeky front mount eh? What other mods does it have?
  24. Since my rocker cover gasket is leaking oil onto my headers, I now have a CEL for the o2 sensor which is hardly surprising. Found a breaker on ebay who has a bunch of o2 sensors for sale at £12 a pop. Surely worth a punt?
  25. Stunning looking car! I really like the no spoiler look :D
