Mobile Phone blocking in cars
Off road is fine. I'm the same. When I'm on the road though I wouldn't want to risk it.

Mobile Phone blocking in cars
It seems a lot of drivers forget when they're driving a car it needs 100% attention 100% of the time. A lot are too casual now and give up concentrating. That mentality that it won't happen to me. The age old excuse that driving in the middle lane is safer even on an empty motorway. The priority should be keeping you, your passengers and every other road user including pedestrians safe. Not updating your fb status. It should be common sense not to use your phone rather than everyone else trying to look after us.

Mobile Phone blocking in cars
Manufacturers shouldn't need to nanny us. If people would take responsibility for themselves we wouldn't be in this situation. Bluetooth setups are so cheap now, even cheaper than the current fine. Mines part of the radio, press a button and I'm talking. No different to changing the radio station.

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Hi mate, how often should both be changed? Also, where did you order from ? I only replaced them due to getting cel for them. I don't think they're a serviceable part. I got mine from Importcarparts.co.uk

Unbelievable 😩
I had an old motor rebuilt that appareny had new pistons put in. I asked for the old ones as a keep sake and sneaky proof but funnily they went missing. I then asked to see invoices for the new parts and they refused suggesting they weren't allowed to issue them. Young and easily led back then so wasn't sure what to do. Definitely ask for the old bits but prepare for "they're already in the bin". Ask for receipts of work with full break down of parts for service history and explain it will help value the car. Even if they won't issue an invoice with prices they can give you a parts list. How truthful and accurate it is will depend on dealer but do far they seem fair enough.

New insurance sorted
Just spoke to flux today. Offered me a price 25 higher than Keith Michael's renewal and after telling them that, they offered 15 under. Can't be dealing with all the swapping of details to save a pittance.

Best place to buy bushes?
There's a lovely garden centre near me. I'll grab the postcode. Failing that what particular bushes?

lightweight flyweel or not
Quicker rev range, lower inertia. You'll find it harder to pull away and uphill will work the engine harder. Likewise downhill or rolling in gear will behave differently. Flip side of it is the quicker rev and faster response from throttle input.

Gearbox choice
Just as a guide I had 3 synchro and 2 bearings replaced in a TY754 gearbox that only needed an 8 quid input shaft seal but while the box was open I wanted any age related wear sorted. Total came to £510. While I was debating on repairing mine or sourcing second hand most breakers wanted 300+ and given the age and mileage on most of them paying for my repairs was a safer option.

Good news. Nice to hear it's gone straight in with no drama.

Datalogging a classic
With my recent rich running issues and possible maf at fault but no cel showing I figured I'd have a go at getting some data up to monitor the voltage of various sensors. It seems the v5-v6 Impreza ecu is over complicated when it comes to it. I have got myseof a vag 409.1 cable and downloaded freessm software to test out. As far as I'm aware the cable is correct and the software should work. So far I've managed to the software to recognise that it's connected to the car but when trying to access the ecu or you I get this error Anyone ever used freessm or managed to gain access to a turbo 2000's data?
