  1. Website still up??
  2. dont worry about loads of questions - stage descriptions for tuning / modification can vary widely dependant on tuner / forum / model of car. If you change the flow into and out of your engine a remap will ensure the fuelling etc is tailored to the mods you have made
  3. Wotcha and welcome!!
  4. now there is a question.... I dont know but I do know the STI has a larger wheel bearing - I dont know if this means also an internal diameter measurement? Sound like a good project thread though
  5. Kerbed the nearside alloy!! grrrrr

Wotcha and welcome - depends where in WM you are but head out towards Wales, Leominster, Hereford way, go early doors and you will find some great twisty A roads. Or take a day trip to the coast Barmouth / Aberystwyth A470 / A44 via Rhaydar both have potential
  7. Wotcha and welcome - awesome motor you have there, if you are looking for quite a bit of track work consider fitting also an air / oil separator, a sump baffle and whilst you are in there an uprated oil pickup (OEM ones can fail).
  8. Wotcha and welcome!!
  9. looking great - a really clean build
  10. Agree - welding is way to go - was thinking the spark erosion approach of 'burning' the bolt head away would be too much for the surrounding alloy casing
  11. Yup looks like welding is your next step - spark erosion will probably damage your caliper
  12. Wotcha and welcome!! Having spoken to a couple of 4x4 offroading chums they like any excuse to do a bit of winching so good chance that motor was taken past it limits on purpose. One guy I knew used to take his 4x4 on Salisbury plain - not too far out from London but watch out for Tanks
  13. Think there was a recent thread discussing the same question. thicker Anti-roll bars suspension package - coilovers or upgraded standard suspension components for quicker steering look at a rack from a new STI which has a better ratio (this applies to the 08-12 STI models also) looking at circa 1K cost though from Subaru
  14. Im with SGhost on this one - once again trying to legislate for people doing what they know is wrong, I dont know the answer - I am seeing more people driving with a sense of entitlement (outside lane of empty dual track 50 mph in a NSA limit etc) as opposed to with road sense, due care and attention plus awareness. Maybe if we all rode motor bikes???
  15. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to get stuck in - all friendly on here and we do like photos so don't be camera shy
  16. Wotcha and welcome!!
  17. You are supposed to oil after cleaning however I never have as A) I never cleaned the filter B) the way I looked at it was I wasn't using the cars in unduly dusty conditions and any particles small enough to get through were not going to impact the performance hugely, particularly as I had not fitted an air oil separator so oil from the breather going through the pots was going to have a greater affect than the small dust particles.
  18. Have a great time Guys and Gals hope you all awoke to full stockings
  19. It does impact 4T NA engines, hence development of exhaust valves to change the diameter of the pipe and improve midrange pull plus smooth delivery by removing flatspots. Length of pipe can also improve torque. But turbo engines just need the fastest least resistance path to atmosphere to help spool and response.
  20. not come across oil pump seizure - oil starvation yes but not seizure
  21. Wotcha and welcome
  22. Nice write up - think I prefer the replacement G clamp foot to the anodised red option

As above - power to weight ratio is better so you will get improved fuel economy
