Taking a standard STI the prodrive route to 330bhp as in the 330s model will be fine - Subaru themselves don't recommend taking the standard internals past that. The CS400 has different internals which is why it is able run the 400bhp o/p. I don't know much about tuning the WRX other than the original discussions we had relating to the early WRX hatch was lower on power than the later ones (diff turbo I believe). Was looking at a white wrx this morning - nice looking motor but def needs a bigger spoiler on the hatch :D

Where do the OEM tweeter wires go back to if they are separate to the midrange door cable? You may find an existing crossover in place behind the dash already filtering the signal - in that case wiring the crossover to the midrange door wires will present little to no output to the tweeters If your tweeters are already installed and working - you may be able to have the midrange connected directly without using the crossover

Nice recommend - Im sure Caroline would possibly find that useful as she needs an exhaust for her Fozzy

Dont necessarily be put off by the reported engine failures as myself, Pete and Salsa have had no issues - although Petes mate had one fail but hadnt enough oil in the engine

Standard STI hatch is 295 (300 quoted) - 330 is about 326

Similar to what I had to pay at the same age - however that doesnt take into account 20+ years inflation so not a bad deal at all :)

Mentioned in other thread about my mates feedback - the doors have a frame all the way around the window so noise is a little less however they are still super light thin bodywork so there is some noise, best thing you can do is take a test run, I was more than happy doing lots of miles - family holiday to south coast etc doesnt make you feel like you have been battered from start to finish, definitely relaxed but can still put the hammer down with no issues at all :D

Hatch is softer on the standard suspension compared to the blob, steering also not as sharp - feedback from a friend of mine who had owned both classic and blob models after driving my hatch STi

wasnt there an engine in another thread - 1400 but would mean you are back up and running and with fully forged CDB reliability? Then you could work on the engine and sell on?

try putting some copper grease on back of pads?
