  4. Thought matey was having them - discussion in other thread??
  5. Wotcha and welcome - sounds like you have the makings of a great project thread - keep the camera handy and let us know how you get on
  6. sounds like you might have some of the trim pins missing??
  7. nice one - will be giving that a go
  8. yup please keep us posted - some photos of the failure would be useful
  9. see if you can get a nibbler instead of jigsaw, or take time with dremmel - you can always get it reversed by a plate and some welding / brazing rods. good luck matey!!
  10. my 2p aftermarket head unit and camera then go for the auto dim mirror and fit all yourself, tey are all very much easy fits with harness adapters
  11. if it is a standard sti with service history look to do a remap for peace of mind plus uprated fuel pump, filter and cat back system that gets you over 300 bhp, look at forged pistons and rods as a next step but I would look at a cossie baffle plus uprated oil pump and coolant pump (anti cavitation) before that if engine is sound
  12. Litchfield do a setup which lowers the front end 10 - 20 mm (which it needs IMO) or so and stiffens up all around http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/SUBARU/Subaru-Performance-Upgrades/subaru_08_handling rebuild could be up to 10K dependant on how extensive you want to take it, full CDB etc I looked at the RA website as food for thought or RCM is a good place to sort the quality parts from. http://www.ra-motorsport.co.uk/Product/Category/FW20100625040204 http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/SUBARU/Subaru-Performance-Upgrades/subaru_08_upgrades Some feedback I recieved from a chap who drove mine after owning a classic and a blob was that he felt it didnt steer as quickly as the others - I was investigating a quicker steering rack to address this (as wellas Litchfield goodies) I believe this has been addressed with the new STI model as it now has a quicker ratio. Although I dont know as any of these changes from standard will detract from your lass enjoying the motor for what it is ;)
  13. Wotcha and welcome - get yourself to the meet and have a mooch around Petes machine, practical and not too slow off the mark ;)
  14. Wotcha and welcome - we have a few wagon owners who will hopefully be along to add some details
  15. wotcha and welcome - awesome motor I am slightly biased though ;) we have a thread somewhere with loads of info from hatch / saloon owners, some tips, service history is a must - some engines have been prone to fail (ringland failure) the 330s shouldnt have any issues being a later model and having a fuel map which addresses the issue. interior paint on the plastic inserts on door panels is thin and prone to wear, Sport mode is more economical than the I mode. Panels are thin so look for dents
  16. the light units on the hatch are easy to remove you will need to get in with some cotton wool buds they are not water tight though so dont immerse them in a bucket of water, you might want to look at removing teh spoiler - also an easy job - to clean behind that as well. I have a thread somewhere with pics of removal
  17. love the way teh tow rope gets put back in the hatch - obviously not the first time ;)
  18. thats exactly it ;) but on a positive note if you ditch the catalytic converter the extra fuel can ignite in the exhaust and gives a lovely orange glow in the end pipes :D
  19. looking good!! - liking the blue black approach
