  1. yeah - thats not helping Stants :D
  2. What an awesome trip - US trip US car - way to go def, very jealous but now you have done all the research just need to copy the itinerary ;) the Elk experience is a nice touch - slightly different to mine where I have woken up on occasion to find the odd moose or horrendi-tremendi-gorilla-pig wandering about the room fortunately not happened for a fair few years now though :P
  3. Wotcha and welcome - how old do I feel I remember them releasing the tracks before the greatest hits album
  4. Wotcha and welcome - all friendly on here :P
  5. That is a lovely clean example - good luck with the sale but sorry you have to let it go in first place :(
  6. Wotcha and welcome John - GT86 bruvva from anuvva muvva so no probs there ;) I know of a new member to this forum who will be very jealous of how quickly you are getting yours, his black motor doesn't arrive for a few weeks yet. keep us posted and if you take any photos dont forget to share
  7. which subaru were these fitted to - model and year would be useful as STI is a bit vague given the different PCD etc?
  8. think the M30 has the separate fob - but I may be wrong - good idea to sort the keypad code out though :D
  9. It was posted in another thread about the new STI one of the other members was discussing it, unfortunately I cannot remember which one
  10. may get more appropriate viewing in this section ;)
  11. Any dealer should offer the stage 1 and honour the warrenty - it is a Subaru thing
  12. transplant a legacy TT 6 pot
  13. the wrx owners who have modded their motors will have only gone so far, normally the easier bolt on changes - engine internals etc will not normally have been touched. It would also challenge your requirement for a standard car and the knowledge of history associated with any future mods. dependant on what motors you have owned previously I dont believe you will be disappointed with either - there is a previous WRX vs STI discussion in another thread on here and one of the key points I thought most valid was the six speed box in the STI was a notable benefit. When looking for my motor I drove a type D hawkeye wrx, a blob sti and ended up with a Shark hatch STI with PPP (Type UK) - all of them put a smile on my face but the STI's did feel tauter and stirring the close ratio 6 speed was great. But it was like choosing between 3 of your favourite desserts win win either way ;)
  14. nice and level - did you have any issues with moving brackets etc??
  15. Wotcha and welcome - do love a hatch me :)
  16. travel is something you may have to come to terms with in order to get the right one for you - I had an 8 hour round trip to get mine and many other members have gone further - one chap even came to the UK and drove his back to the Nordics (Sweden I think, but dont quote me)
  17. You can change the battery yourself but will probably need to programme it to your alarm - now I know we have a thread covering this process somewhere on the forum - is your alarm the sigma M30? this is for the M30 Reprogramming ProcedureArm and then Disarm the system using the working Radio Key. Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad- *17856*91*2# where 2 is total number of radio keys to work the system Briefly press both radio keys in turn (the dash board LED will flash each time and the siren will bleep) Any radio keys not programmed here will no-longer operate the system. You should now be able to arm and disarm the system using all the radio keys programmed. When using the keypad always observe the following points: The PIN number should not be entered too quickly or too slowly - when a digit has been pressed the small LED built into the keypad will illuminate briefly as confirmation and only then should the next digit be entered. If an incorrect digit is pressed or the delay between entering digits exceeds 10 seconds, then the LED above the keypad will flash rapidly and the PIN attempt should be abborted and started again after 30 seconds. Due to the small size of the keypad some users may find a rubber tipped pencil easier to use. DO NOT use the sharp tip of a ball point pen etc, or press excessively hard on the keypad as this will only damage the membrane and cause a digit to remain pressed, causing a continual incorrect PIN. The keypad allows only THREE PIN attempts and then will “Lock Up” if an incorrect number is entered a third time. This is a security feature to prevent random PIN attempts disarming the system. If the remote(s) still don’t work then there are 3 possible reasons: The remote battery is flat (the built in LED takes very little current to illuminate it and is not an indication that the battery voltage is healthy). The remote is damaged or faulty. It’s the wrong type of remote for the M30. There have been a number of Sigma remotes over the years that operate on different radio frequencies and use different encryption methods. The correct remote for the M30 is the AC38. This remote is easy to identify as it has a round battery “pod” on the rear of the remote with a screw-off cover.
  18. apparently for the full 4D effects you have to be at the front as the feature does not work for passengers further back :D
  19. look for leaks or perished hoses - do you have an additional boost controller fitted? Also the turbo actuator / valve may be stuck closed allowing the pressure to build past normal
  20. I dont know what setup you have - disc drum etc however the stud itself will be removed from the back of whatever mounting plate is part of your hub. If it is really tight dont wail on it with a lump hammer as you could damage the wheel bearings but many of them just require a gentle tap, generally the front will be easier than the rear. the stud itself can be sourced from a dealer or here is an example on ebay - check with the supplier that it will fit your motor http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-2-0-STi-01-to-04-Hub-Wheel-Stud-Bolt-Genuine-Subaru-28055AA003-/280963108347?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ASubaru&hash=item416ab4cdfb fitting the new on is a case of coat in wd40 or oil push through the hole and tighten up using a wheel nut and some washers as spacers, this will get it in place
  21. BC's are the make recommended earlier in the thread
  22. sorry - I havent fitted a tow bar to a scoob so could not advise on this one
  23. Ash does mention it in his detail ;) - Xxr 527 wheels with new tyres
  24. Wotcha and welcome - we have had a couple of members share the agony of waiting for the new STI - but all things good etc - it will be worth it, very jealous black would be my choice of colour also keep us posted and watch out for a small leak from the rear diff when you eventually take possession - dealer should fix no problem
