  1. yes they are although you will have trouble with a boot / hatch exchange :D US site gives good parts info http://www.buysubarupartsnow.com/auto-parts/2012/subaru/impreza/wrx-sti-trim/2-5l-h4-gas-engine parts search http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/m/Subaru- Japanese site which gives cross model / range parts by year https://www.japanparts.com/parts/carmodel.php?dl=1&st=1
  2. must admit wasnt a fan of the Bug until I saw this - snapped by Gem at the NBO
  3. Wotcha and welcome - some great work there already - get a project thread up and keep us updated of any progress ;)
  4. Wotcha and welcome!!
  5. Wotcha and welcome - not too far from yourself... http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/8780-a-drive-into-the-peak-district-and-meet-up-with-other-subaru-clubs/
  6. I wouldn't have a problem with that if the mounting itself is still secure to the tube - a spot of weld if you are not happy would fill the hole
  7. nice looking car - agree its a little expensive - only thing I would question is why the calipers have had to be helicoiled given the service history, was it accidental or did someone bodge something along the way - this would not stop me buying the car though so dont let that put you off it
  8. Wotcha and welcome - contact Midland Scooby Spares and see if they can help http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/user/3130-midland-scooby-spares/ http://midlandscoobyspares.vpweb.co.uk/
  9. as Matt says also bear in mind irrespective how much you spend on building an engine a bad map will trash it - running lean or too high boost will run high risk of detonation. You can have a remap and not push the limits of a standard engine and still run safely within its design parameters
  10. yup STI - better spec initially - and still open to tuning options
  11. nope - not a golf fan
  12. is that judder when you hit the brakes at over 70 or just a judder from the brakes when driving over 70?
  13. sounds like a plan - all appropriate mods, if you do decide to make the changes why not start a project thread so we can follow the progress ;)
  14. Wotcha and welcome - some lovely examples there - nice one
  15. yup share some photos and we can maybe shed some light ;)
  16. dont worry about the panels too much expense for no gain ;) extra mpg will be all about power versus weight so lightweight or removal is way to go, thinner tyres will provide less resistance and therefore get better mpg but at the loss of braking power so I wouldnt recommend that :o black wheels will look smaller on the car than they actually are (ask any lady about the slimming effects of a little black number :D ) graphite grey looks good on some colours - all depends what you go for I suppose as white or silver rims look good on a blue motor super unleaded costs more but does return more mpg keep us posted with what you decide
  17. Wotcha and welcome!!
  18. Talk to Baxter here - his preference being a hatch but you never know...? http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/9530-looking-for-an-impreza-r/
  19. Wotcha and welcome - not owned an R myself but if it was the hatch version you get I would put an STI spoiler on the hatch as the original is too small for the shape of the car IMO, also some bigger rims / standard STI rims to fill the arches. members on here that have the 2.0l models may be along to talk about day to day ownership, there are some threads already on the forum from members asking questions so feel free to have a browse and read up on some of the topics IIf I remeber rightly Becky22 had an R hatch, had an issue but that was more to do with a duff mechanic making things worse
  20. that is a top job on the body - should keep it sound for a few years
  21. gives you peace of mind as well to know your starting point
