  1. this one bookmarked as well - going to be a full day tomorrow :D
  2. I thought so went from 17 - 21 mpg in one tank full, which was nice :)
  3. I ran EBC green and red stuff with black diamond discs and had no issues with excessive disc wear
  4. Ahhh that does potentially explain it - I know the twin turbo toyotas and Nissan dont have that characteristic so it might be possible then - I would have to start researching the legacy plant as well - only just starting to get my head around the impreza one :D Can the Vac system be simplified?
  5. Rollamite gave his completed sport project to his mum for xmas and now she has branded hoodies etc really embraced the whole thing - still not a member on here though will have to give him a nudge :D
  6. Would it be possible to address the VOD by changing the spool up characteristics of the turbos, different blades, profiles etc
  7. here you go chum http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/2979-announcement-tapatalk-now-live/
  8. again good customer service from your machine shop :)
  9. well the forecast means it will be better time spent indoors :(
  10. post moved to here http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/4811-single-or-twin-turbo-legacy-is-it-possible-is-it-worth-it/
  11. New thread created from a question in an alternate thread
  12. I think this is a really good question that warrants its own thread to capture the posts and make it easier to find in future
  13. yup agree with Marmite opinion of lifters - if you need to get air out I prefer the modified bonnet option - the engineer in me always looks at them and thinks something isnt fitted correctly
  14. I ran the 150w h4's but they are only used as a high beam on the hatchback - very effective for the chelsea tractors and big Audis that seem to think it is their God given right to drive around on high beam all the time :D
  15. Sometimes it all mounts up and comes at once like that - had a simllar thing on my 200sx years ago - turbo rebuild (which was initially diagnosed as valve stem seals so full reefurb with head skim was done) followed by x2 tyres followed by gearbox and clutch... very dented bank account
  16. Wotcha and welcome - thats a great looking diesel, alloys, spoiler, scoop the lot
  17. poor doggy no tongue out action for him
  18. always shell vpower or BP super unleaded - gets more mpg and a smoother throttle response
  19. mintex pads are good have used them in past with Tarox grooved discs but they did wear out quite quickly - I found EBC pads to have the same performance but better wear - have also used Black diamond discs and had improved performance over OEM with those - I would recommend fitting braided hoses if you are still on standard rubber ones particularly if the car is a few years old. 5.1 fluid as well http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/frame-detail.asp?PAGE=/black-diamond-brakes.htm
  20. it could be as simple as your wheel has thrown a weight and therefore is no longer balanced causing a vibration through to the steering wheel however the way you have described it leads me to think it could be something a bit more serious like a bearing gone or your steering rack has worn
  21. looked at a number of cars EVO etc, drove a mates blobeye STI but missus wanted a hatchback - final deciding factor was a pretty woman moment at an Audi garage over an A3 quattro, chap wouldnt let the missus test drive it until xyz blah blah blah great piece of karma there as having since been in an A3 it pales by comparison :D
