  1. Glad to see you walked away from that wreck - amazing just how little is left of the car after the fire :o Pod looks great nice clean job!
  2. I think this one (or something similar) has been answered already (cant remeber what was said :( ) - ill do some digging see if I can find the thread
  3. Is that Tommy Gunn from the original Death Race 2000?
  4. Wotcha and welcome - sounds like you have found one which will do right by you
  5. The missus is a big fan and he generated some amazing results in cars that should not have been that high up the grid so thoughts go out to him and his family at least he was wearing a helmet!!
  6. Thinking about this overnight - you could run a separate wire with fuse to supply the siren in the same way you would do with a high power horn and have it activated via a relay triggered by the alarm (if it is not already set up like this anyway)
  7. Wotcha and welcome I looked at the accessport and initially decided against it for the following: I wasnt going to be performing diagnostics and analysis as frequently as what that will enable - a laptop and odb port adapter would suit that purpose. The downloadable maps are done for a generic car which is fine but you have that currently with the OEM Subaru map but if you have one done by Andy Forrest or Jolly Green Monster you start with generic and then it gets tweaked specifically for your car and so will be spot on. I stand to be corrected but... as I read / understand the maps are designed around the NAS product which has different petrol grades and barometric pressure / weather etc so whilst that may not have a huge effect a tuner in the UK / Europe will be tuning for local conditions and again getting it spot on. The Accessport product is a great piece of kit and if you want the flexibility it provides say for tweaking on a day to day basis for individual tracks / weather conditions I would consider it - once you have had a baseline map to your car from a local tuner. If you want it for things like turbo boost etc get your hands on a newer Subaru LCD head unit which plugs into the CANBUS and will display all of that info
  8. knew it was Jackie Chan from first pic but not seen that movie so will look out for it
  9. Wotcha and welcome - Gambit has covered it so ill just say it would be great to see some photos of your new pride and joy ;)
  10. as the alarm is supposed to be a low current current drain it should not affect the working of the alarm itself - it may affect the siren on activation as this will draw more current
  11. That will make a difference - used to run mintex pads years ago with Tarox discs - great stopping power, I just seemed to wear them out very quickly :P
  12. Dont think it is first strike, would have remembered the van from that one... will not google, will not google..... :)
  13. Jay762 replied to quit's topic in Junk Room
liking the windscreen effort - looks spot on!!
  14. Wotcha and welcome - cant help myself sorry but hopefully someone will be along with the correct info
  15. Could be an issue with the signal from the key fob not being recieved - or because the setup procedure hasnt worked correctly you could have an issue with the unit itself
  16. Easy to say go for it when it s not my car but I would be genuinely interested in the results so must give it the thumbs up :P
  17. nice one!! ;)
  18. Wotcha and welcome - with that aim in mind you will def need to look at the standard brakes ;) keep us updated, I have longterm plans for a classic myself so would be interested to see the route you take
  19. ooo def dont know this one - thought I did - loving the van though :)
  20. Jay762 replied to bang's topic in General Subaru Chat
its a good strategy that is for sure :)
  21. Wotcha and welcome - hope it meets your expectations - take someone with you who doesnt want to buy the car as I feel a little scooby coming through :)
  22. looks like a full carbon fibre one - id go for the value one then save for that carbon one - looks the mutts!!
  23. I do like the JW racing pic - couldnt see how much it was though?
  24. ahem... so I see the thread with the laptimes table has not been updated for a couple of weeks...cough cough... :D bit of a neck sticking out here as I dont partake :)
  25. you can get a fully carbon piece as a replacement which gives a similar effect not since they changed the rules and I de mobbed - had to give the toys back at the gate :( although to be fair Matelots and firearms are not really a good combination - we are not really safe, more of a danger to ourselves than any impending threat, Marines and Army are far more qualified (safer) than we ever were :D
