  2. He is correct just use it dry ;)
  3. mate, you do make me chuckle :) its a good job its a sympathetic crowd on here :P
  4. Wotcha and welcome - hopefully you can find a cost effective fix
  5. it will be breathing easier so now you could look at the exhaust ;) but be careful it is a slippery slope, multiple maps and nitros are only an overdraft away :D
  6. Does sound like you already have the big stoppers on there 4's up front and 2's on the rear, possibly even cast alloy components that the STI comes with over the WRX. Check the size of the discs themselves as you may be straight into big disc kits from AP/ Alcon and K Sport?
  7. ok so the character in this movie made me laugh partly because I remember looking at myself in a mirror during a waterlogged journey on an RD350 with no fairing from Scotland to Midlands and seeing the same bloodshot wide eye stare as this chap has and because he just doesnt give up :D
  8. Wotcha and welcome John - there are a couple of members who have taken the same route as yourself - Landies to Subarus so you are not alone in that decision :)
  9. knowing what you have concealed that is certainly a stealthy machine, wrt scoops as soon as a FMIC is fitted I like a heat release / air flow option so louvres or mesh covered opening - but it does detract from a stealth approach as people start asking questions
  10. Pedders that was the name - well done that man!!
  11. There is a thread on this somewhere... As I remember the answer is yes you can buy them but as it requires you pulling your headlining off to fit them the dealers were saying it was an original fit option only. The price in the UK for the items though was the thick end of £1000 We found a US site that sells them for significantly less so even with import tax it would still be a cheaper option Think it was this site... http://estore.subarupartswarehouse.com/parts/2009/SUBARU/Forester/X?siteid=217823&vehicleid=204823&diagram=7603316
  12. I am also a fan of less is more when it comes to dashboards - can you set alarm levels on this guage?
  13. Glad to see you walked away from that wreck - amazing just how little is left of the car after the fire :o Pod looks great nice clean job!
  14. I think this one (or something similar) has been answered already (cant remeber what was said :( ) - ill do some digging see if I can find the thread
  15. Is that Tommy Gunn from the original Death Race 2000?
  16. Wotcha and welcome - sounds like you have found one which will do right by you
  17. The missus is a big fan and he generated some amazing results in cars that should not have been that high up the grid so thoughts go out to him and his family at least he was wearing a helmet!!
  18. Thinking about this overnight - you could run a separate wire with fuse to supply the siren in the same way you would do with a high power horn and have it activated via a relay triggered by the alarm (if it is not already set up like this anyway)
  19. Wotcha and welcome I looked at the accessport and initially decided against it for the following: I wasnt going to be performing diagnostics and analysis as frequently as what that will enable - a laptop and odb port adapter would suit that purpose. The downloadable maps are done for a generic car which is fine but you have that currently with the OEM Subaru map but if you have one done by Andy Forrest or Jolly Green Monster you start with generic and then it gets tweaked specifically for your car and so will be spot on. I stand to be corrected but... as I read / understand the maps are designed around the NAS product which has different petrol grades and barometric pressure / weather etc so whilst that may not have a huge effect a tuner in the UK / Europe will be tuning for local conditions and again getting it spot on. The Accessport product is a great piece of kit and if you want the flexibility it provides say for tweaking on a day to day basis for individual tracks / weather conditions I would consider it - once you have had a baseline map to your car from a local tuner. If you want it for things like turbo boost etc get your hands on a newer Subaru LCD head unit which plugs into the CANBUS and will display all of that info
  20. knew it was Jackie Chan from first pic but not seen that movie so will look out for it
  21. Wotcha and welcome - Gambit has covered it so ill just say it would be great to see some photos of your new pride and joy ;)
  22. as the alarm is supposed to be a low current current drain it should not affect the working of the alarm itself - it may affect the siren on activation as this will draw more current
  23. That will make a difference - used to run mintex pads years ago with Tarox discs - great stopping power, I just seemed to wear them out very quickly :P
