  1. too true, IC's, rads and oil coolers all very delicate
  2. useful pics those - you can clearly see what is what you were posting as I was had to edit immediately :D
  3. Good luck with the sale Gaz - hopefully you can get something with a six stars emblem in the not too distant future - dont be a stranger though ;)
  4. I would say that is a feed to the turbo - bit of air flow the newage ones don't have that so you might be able to do without...? Are you going back to the standard airbox configuration as well?
  5. nah bigger the better when it comes to project photos - helps us see what is what
  6. As Pete mentioned in another thread, you will need; Brackets, top mount, y pipe, dump valve adapter or recirc + piping. From this photo you can see two mounting points for the intercooler itself to some form of bracketry - that may or may not be in place on yours - any chance you could post some photos of what you have and what the current engine top looks like? Also I cant see a recirc valve but am unsure if they were fitted as standard in 95 If the brackets are in place see if there is a nut welded to the base - if so this will allow you to try a variety of thread types - I would go with an M12 std which is 1.75 pitch (fine is 1.5) jfyi M10 std is 1.5 and fine is 1.25
  7. No problem at all - please share
  8. Strip, inspect then order parts - if new calipers are needed make the purchase then rebuild your existing ones to sell as refurbished units. or use the opportunity to upgrade from a different model and source a set of calipers right from the start
  9. does sound dodgy - would give this one a wide berth, there are plenty of other nice examples about at the moment
  10. Some tasty bolt ons there - good luck with the sale
  11. Yup would be a good idea - a how to section for example wrt the pins I have just measured them and the larger ones are similar to these but 'T' = 25mm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-bumper-panel-fasteners-clips-plastic-trim-CLIP-/280774231952?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ASubaru&hash=item415f72c790 The smaller one is similar to this however 'T' = 20mm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIX122-SCREW-RIVET-FITS-6-5mm-HOLE-FIXING-CAR-TRIM-BODY-PANEL-CLIP-x25-/321059520211?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ac0a37ed3 The panel pins resemble these but I cannot measure those at this point http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Body-Panel-Trim-Clips-Green-8mm-Hole-x-10-/150899657700?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2322520be4 I do have some of the first example as they hold the front spoiler in place - somewhere... I could stick a couple in the post to see if they will do the job?
  12. a ferrari 360 came past the other day in a 30 zone then when it changed to NSA he booted it - stuck on his tail kids in the back whooping and cheering but the co pilot wasnt amused, to be fair though, by her own admittance, she is a bad passenger and prefers to be booting it herself
  13. I liken being an admin to being a host at a party - your responsibility is to ensure everyone else is having a good time and feels welcome, sure everyone has opinions but things like car ownership is a personal thing and all will be different (thats what makes it interesting). If someone wants to take a mint P1 and turn it into a euro style rat car covered in rust with 10 inch rims that is their choice and whilst I might not agree with the taste I would certainly support where I could with any challenges along the way - as long as they kept posting photos of course ;)
  14. I always find other peoples write ups like this useful - Petes boost gauge tap off for instance - so I try and catalogue stuff as I do it. pulled a plug out today as well and found it was a denso iridium tough - which was nice :D
  15. as you are into researching before buying - a bit of background... ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Impreza
  16. keep us posted ;)
  17. These come off really easily remove the plugs from under the car. then gently pull working from one end, the unit is held by panel plugs mounting holes in car I did coat the pins with a layer of red grease prior to refitting due to there being rubber washers in-between the metal surface and the pin and to make it easier to remove next time
  18. before getting the hatch in the picture I drove a hawkeye wrx and a blobeye sti - both are great cars but I enjoyed the sti more in the short time I was in them purely because of the close ratio gearbox. You cant go wrong with either car but for driving enjoyment I would plump for the STI
  19. agree, square on wagons
  20. a turbo looky likey - very good ;)
  21. Wotcha and welcome Cris turbo - yes, lots of fun insurance varies so shop around but Adrain Flux will give members on here a discount tweekable - ooooh yes here is a recent example and it just so happens it is up for sale http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/2072-sad-sale-of-my-beloved-facelift-classic-impreza-wagon/
  22. sounds like a plan - Adrian Flux gives a discount to S.O.C. members
  23. These guys supply bone fide rally teams with tasty kit worth giving them a ring - UK based http://www.subaruwrcspares.com/1.html
  24. As I understand it the STI has a wider track, bigger wheel hubs, bearings and brakes to the wrx - there may also be thicker anti roll bars but I cant remember / find where I read that so cannot confirm at this point.
